Sam was kind enough to come out earlier than usual to accomodate our plans for the day.
We had a fab drive out to the water, got kitted out and paddled out in Sam's office - just gorgeous. Refreshments were provided, yum yum - we would totally recommend you get out on the water for a local history lesson, amazing views and getting up close to wildlife - do it!

Such amazing scenery and the highlight of our trip to Queenstown.
Sam was a top guide and knows a lot about the area. We would recommend it to anyone.

A really great trip!
It was great to be able to get onto the lake, and the views were stunning. The guide was really fun, and we got to see endangered birds on the island. It was a really great day, and I would definitely recommend the trip.

Went out with Rippled Earth for a paddle out to Pigeon Island on Lake Wakatipu, and I'm pleased to say it was nothing short of spectacular.
I've done a decent amount of paddling in NZ, and this trip was one of the best.
Sam, owner/operator of Rippled Earth was a world class guide, and a Glenorchy local; full of interesting information on the flora/fauna and history of the area, he had answers to all of my questions. This is my third time visiting Queenstown, and I still managed to learn a lot.
Also (and this seals the 10/10), since I was traveling solo, Sam was generous enough to loan me his one solo boat, which made a huge difference in my enjoyment of the trip. I really can't recommend him or his company enough - it's the antithesis of the typical Queenstown commercial operation, and if you're at all interested in kayaking or the lake, you owe it to yourself to get out there!

I loved it!
Sam was a great kayaking guide; laid back, evidently passionate about his job through his sound knowledge of New Zealand flora and fauna history mixed with entertaining story telling and delectable bush tucker. The whole experience was relaxing, refreshing and the mountainous backdrop with the clear cool water beneath you as you kayak is amazing. I have pictures to prove it!
Highly recommended if you want to experience a truely raw New Zealand feel, stress free.
