Incredible value for the van we received.
We loved our van, it had the odd mechanical issue but these are to be expected in a van of this age. These were dealt with swiftly by the office and booked into garages. The internal features were fantastic and up to a high standard for the incredibly cheap price we paid! Thank you budget campers for making our trip around new Zealand affordable and enjoyable. The team are very friendly and efficient !

Hi Dorothy sorry to hear your van did not meet your expectations. The vans are older vehicles hence why they are priced at budget rates.

Our campervan was 15 years old, and still doing a good job!
Interior was clean, great bed, more equipment than we needed. Ok, after one week the fridge broke down, but it can happen (it can happen even with new equipment!), and we were near Christchurch, so we popped in at Budget deposit, and they managed to replace it very quickly. The service was very friendly, we didn't have to pay anything, and the next 2 weeks we had a great time with our campervan. We loved our Hiace and we miss him back here in Germany!!

You get what you pay for; that being said, camper runs, clean sheets, friendly service and low prices!!

Fairly old van but cheapest around.
Kitchen contents appear new. Problems starting van due to loose battery leads. Pillow lacking.

Very old car, takes around 15 litres of unleaded feul, interior is OK, although we did not think that the car will do without breakdown, we did >2000km without any problems.

Quite cheap for the size, but a little old.
Some annoying little details: missing screws, table uneven.... Great quality/price in general.

A couple of things were not perfect (slightly leaky sink and grill did not work) but all in all impressed.

The campervan was definitely at 'budget' level.
Some maintenance was required. Gas cylinder was not full initially but company agreed to compensate for cost to us of filling. Free shuttle bus from Christchurch airport.

they rent really old and bad conditions campervan.
The one we got had a leak from the front windscreen with rust marks (so they knew about this leak), the dishes were sticky and greasy with food stuck at the bottom of the pot, so we had to rewash everything. The side door was hard to close because of a plastic part broken. And the "best" thing to give you an image of this rental company is that we found dead flies on the floor.I send a email to get explanation and they just apologize for the cleanliness . My advice is to spend few more dollars to get something clean, comfy,and in better condition from any other rental company, but forget about budgetcampers (they gave us a Freedom Campervan,so it's the same company)
