The Big Kahuna from Chill’d by JUCY is a 6-berth motorhome hire built for epic adventures! Every vehicle is unique, but they all offer space for up to six mates, meaning the adventure is made to be shared. Whether it's surf trips, ski weekends, festivals or a good old-fashioned roadie, Chill'd by JUCY is your squad's home on the road.

Excess cover means the hirer is partially covered for accidental damage to the rental vehicle and for any liability if the rental vehicle injures someone else or their property while the hirer is driving it. The hirer is required to pay the agreed excess on an insurance claim. A vehicle bond or security deposit may be held. The hirer must comply with all policy terms and conditions.

Excess note: WHEN CHOSING RISK-TAKER INSURANCE COVER: A deposit to cover the excess will be held for security on the hirer’s credit card for the duration of the rental, even if you have insurance with a third party The hirer will have to pay the daily rental rate for each day the vehicle is being repaired Any costs to repair damage caused by a third party may not be recoverable as insurance is not compulsory in New Zealand and Australia The excess must be paid at the time of the accident regardless of cover provided by an independent travel insurance policy No cover is provided for glass damage. Windscreen damage is most common; the average cost of windscreen replacement is $350 and windscreen chips $75 None of JUCY’s excess reduction options cover roof damage or single vehicle rollover incident (maximum charge of $5,000). JUCY’s excess reduction options are null and void if any of the Rental Agreement terms are breached. Exclusions apply as set out in our Terms.

What is excess?

Insurance excess (also known as deductible) is the dollar amount that the hirer must contribute towards the replacement or repair costs of a vehicle during an insurance claim.

This means that if an insurance claim is made, the hirer must pay the first portion of the replacement or repair cost. The excess is the maximum amount that the hirer needs to contribute. The insurance company will cover any remaining cost (providing the policy terms and conditions have been met).

Bond note: The bond is payable by credit card only, and will be pre-authorised on the hirer’s credit card. The bond is fully refundable provided the vehicle is returned on time, on the correct date, and to the correct depot, undamaged, with a clean interior, and with a full fuel tank. The bond may be retained for a short period after the hire to cover the cost of un-notified damage, infringements, or damage to third parties or their property. Once a refund is processed, it may take five or more business days for the funds to become available. Bond: On pick up of your car, this amount will be held on your credit card for 5-30 working days, depending on your bank and card type. If the customer is using a debit card and is on Stress free plus, we will hold $300 security bond to cover any infringements, tolls and additional charges (vehicle damage excess will remain $0).
