The general feeling from travellers is that Auckland surprises people. Most didn't realise how spread out the attractions are, or how much there is to see. The commentary does its job, and the drivers are friendly enough. It's a relaxed way to figure out what Auckland is actually about.
My pick would be to start early and use the full day pass. That way you can actually hop off somewhere, have a wander, and still have time to tick off a few more stops. It's not a deep dive into the city, but for a quick overview it does the job well.
