If you want to support local business & receive excellent customer service, Go with Ugo!
Jonny & his partner were super sweet and so helpful. The van was in excellent condition and got us around the whole north island without any trouble. It is stocked with everything you need including a fridge & solar panels to charge (no plugging in)! I can’t rave enough about this experience. Don’t go with the big business vans, book Ugo! We named our van Hugh, please take care of her!

Just rented the Mazda van for 10 days, and had an amazing experience, both with Johnny and the van itself.
The camper van is extremely well designed and built by Johnny himself, and you can tell he takes pride in his design. The tent pops up on top of the van in under a minute. This design leaves a lot more space in the car for personal bags, a sink, wastewater, small toilet, a fridge, utensils and cooking supplies, etc.. There’s a solar panel on the roof which powers the sink, lights, and the fridge. The cooking space is a smart design where a metal tray slots in above the bumper, making a great table for cooking on. Johnny also provided a down comforter and sheets, as well as camping chairs and a table.
The van itself was good on gas, and very easy to drive. All in all, it was the perfect vehicle for 2 people.

It was an amazing experience driving the UGO Van!
The Van is self contained and the tend on top is awesome. UGO Van is dynamic when it comes to set up the camping, storage and cook the food with the kitchen at the back of the vehicle. Sleeping on top was comfortable and it has plenty space to share in there. We went from coast to coast, sunny and rainy days and it was still comfortable, secure and it didn't get wet at all. The van is a really good car, easy to park and it doesn't has the height and weight that traditional vans has so we didn't have the fear to drive a large van. Johnny is a great person and will help you to make the most of your trip with UGO Van. I strongly recommend hiring UGO Van! My wife and I can't wait for the next trip with UGO Rentals!!!!

The owner of the company is a lovely chap.
The service he provided was exceptional.
The campervan was far greater than our expectations. It drove really well, we had no issues at all. The rooftop tent was like glamping. Being 6ft 4in I still had ample of legroom for sleeping.
The tent was breathable but bug free, when we parked at the beach we were treated to great view because we were higher than the rest of the other campers.
Thanks UGO rentals. We highly recommend and we'll be back in winter to travel down to Queenstown.

I had a great experience with Ugo Rentals.
We drove the campervan all the way to Cape Reinga and down to Taupo and had no problems. Pick up went smooth as well. We rented other campervans before but for the size and the sleeping convenience on the roof I'd definitely book a Ugo again.

Johnny who runs UGO is a fun and enthusiastic guy .The Vans are cool and well set up, Roof pod bed is great.
Everything you need and great value. Highly recommend.

We hired one of the Self-Contained campers from UGO Rentals over the Christmas/New Year period.
After driving to where we would be staying for the first few nights, we set the rooftop tent up within a couple of minutes and were lying inside; watching everyone else struggle with putting up tents! Having the kitchen all set up in the back of the car is such a convenience - we were able to stop off at nice spots, get a drink out and go for wanders, without having to unpack the whole car to get to a chilly bin. I think it's safe to say our expectations were totally met and we will definitely be hiring one of these again. Thanks for being so helpful and for making our travel plans such a breeze!
