This campsite is on the popular Billygoat Circuit.
It is a 1 hour walk from the road end on Billygoat Circuit (across the unbridged Kauaeranga River) and a 2 hour walk from the Pinnacles.
Billygoat Track is closed due to a large slip.
Pinnacles Hut and Dancing Camp are still accessible via Webb Creek Track.
First published on 17 April 2026.Cyclone Vaianu has damaged the Wainora Overbridge – road access is now restricted as far as the Booms Flat Campsite.
Cookson Kauri Walk and Murrays Walk hikers need to park cars in the Booms Flat Campsite and make their way to the trailhead on foot. This will add approximately 2.5 km (one way) to the hike.
Billygoat Circuit track is likely to be slippery/rough, proceeed with caution.
