Ohakune Old Coach Road
We've done the track on MTB's and on foot, and thoroughly enjoyed it each time.
The link to Horopito is now open, meaning it can be as long or short a trip as you like. The views from the old viaduct are stunning, and if you can get up there around 2pm you'll more than likely catch the Overlander travelling along the new viaduct.

Bridge to Nowhere Lodge
Stayed one night while on a river trip with Canoe Safaris.
Joe and family are excellent hosts and like other reviews he met us at the river to cart our heavy gear up the hill, then laughed at me carrying stuff up! He's a funny guy with a very dry sense of humour, and the lodge has a spectacular view. There is probably nowhere else like it.

Canoe Safaris
We did a 3 Day Wanganui Safari and had an excellent experience.
The river is a really beautiful place packed with history and interesting features. Our group was a mix of families and travellers, and everyone got along great. A huge positive was the quality of food, very fresh and well cooked. Accompanied by a nice bottle of NZ wine, this was the perfect way to end a day's paddling. In summary, a highlight of our time in NZ, and would recommend to anyone.

City Lodge
Stayed twice in a few weeks and both times had a positive experience.
Very well located ten mins stroll to Sky Tower, and some limited onsite parking. Rooms are generally clean and comfortable and facilities are far superior to most hostels. To be honest we will probably never stay anywhere else when we're in Auckland.
