Lake Poaka Campsite
Decent campsite.
Good long-drop toilet. Right by the side of a lake so nice and quiet, with other campers there as well. One line of trees so can be quite exposed when windy, which it was when we were there. However overall good campsite for free!

Rakaia Gorge Camping Ground
Stayed for one night in February, $17 for both of us.
Fantastic value! You have hot showers and hot water to clean dishes with. Really flat ground and the lady who greeted us was amazing and explained a few walks in the area. Good view over the gorge. Top campsite!
