Abel Tasman Sailing Adventures
We walked to Anchorage and sailed back to Kaiteriteri- The scenery on the walk was postcard beautiful!
Lunch was tasty and the sailing trip back was one of the highlights of our holiday. We sailed at high tide which meant we were able to go up the estuaries- awesome! My son had a swim at split apple rock with a few other passengers which was fun. We had an entertaining captain (Daryl-I think!)who was very informative about the area and we were dropped off at our camp site at the end of the trip. We were advised to take some warm clothes for the boat trip and were able to give a bag to the captain to take on the boat for us-so we didn't need to carry it on the walk- glad we had the warm clothes as it was chilly! The Barn Cabins & Camping
We stayed here for 5 nights and had a great time-there was lots of space between the tents, clean bathrooms and kitchens and friendly staff.
If you're going to Abel Tasman this is a great spot-so close to the track, water taxis etc. The local bar/cafe is a 2 min walk and has a great atmosphere.

The camp site was beautiful and definetly worth visiting, but there was very little information available there about activities or local areas to visit.

We only stayed one night on the way to Wellington but we were very impressed with the facilities.
We had a lovely time-My son had a great time on the jumping pillow, the bikes and in the pool-I never saw him!

Alexanders Holiday Park Picton
We were able to check in late from the ferry and stayed in one of the railway carriages.
Although it smelled musty it was very comfortable. We arrived late and didn't notice the overhead railway bridge-so it was a suprise to have a train go overhead- it felt like an earthquake! We found it funny because we were in a railway carriage- if you're a light sleeper make sure you put your tent or motorhome away from the bridge. Staff were friendly.
