Went for a three hour paddle in a river kayak without a skirt and a wooden makeshift paddle and was ill prepared, but loved it all the more.
Some of the rapids tipped me right out.

Good small walk to where the falls start.
260 steps down to the pool where we swam. Well presented and properly maintained trails. Too many people.

Well maintained walk.
Quiet. Not many people. Cold water - 10 degrees. Clear water and very refreshing.

Tongariro Northern Circuit
Started from Mangetepopo.
Booked it to Outerere Hut in good time. Camped out in a hammock. Cold! Spent day two under the hot sun and finished in Whakapapa. Refreshing dip in Taranaki Falls.
