Beautiful view and a lot of spaces for self contained campervans and also some for non self contained vehicles.
It can be a little bit confusing where you allowed to park in but apparently at the lower part of the parking lot is completely usable for free camping. The toilets were fine as well but could do better.

Tongaporutu (The Three Sisters)- Overnight Campervan Parking
Very very beautiful view and you can also take a long nice walk at the beach and go look at the three sisters.
The toilets were very very stinky and also no flushing. So a beautiful place to stay if you can oversea the toilet situation.

Waipa Forest Camp
There is NO free shower.
You have to pay and get an extra key from a shop near by. The toilet ar quiet old and a little stinky. It's beautiful to stay there with kids because of the big spaces and the opportunity to go biking. Although it can get a little long to walk all the way to the toilets and back. Also if you stay directly next to the road you might be woken up by some trucks.

Kaimanawa Road Campsite
A fine place to stay for one night to check out the desert road.
There is a no flush toilet available but no toilet paper. Also there is sink which was ok to do the dishes in bit not usable for human consumption. The service there was terrible but otherwise very nice and quiet.

Western Springs Spot
Basker and Janet are such welcoming and kind hosts, who told us a lot about the area.
The bathroom is very clean and modern. We loved staying here and would recommend ro stay there everytime. There is a Bus taking you to town near by so you don't even have to take the car

Very nice view, clean toilets and safe atmosphere.
Ideal for families with children or people who want it quiet and cute.

Memorial Park
Very good facility for children and there is a drink water supply.
The toilets are fine but really not the best. Very crowded and sunny, can get a little bit hot.

Beach Road Reserve
Very nice toilets, a stunning view and also a electric grill and free drink water supply.
There were a lot of joggers and people walking their dogs. Careful there are a quiet a few seagulls.
