Still listed on DOC website too. You get to a farmland sign that says not to camp on their farm and to stay on the road. Drive past the farm and arrive at the shelter. Beautiful remote campsite. Amazing view, no noise, and even has some phone signal. Lot of sand flies though.

Good value really - easy walking to the centre of Queenstown, and can park there all day for about $35.
Get in early, park in a camping spot, pay parking til 6pm and you can spend all day in town and wall back to your van.
Mid may and they're all full before 6pm - don't bother with the official capacity checking site, as absolutely no-one seems to check in.
Minus 1 star because they're all on a bit of a slight slope.
