I do not recommend this company.
We rented a van from Waka Campa for three weeks, and our experience was very disappointing. The vehicle was old, poorly maintained, and dirty. It looked like a DIY conversion with many patched-up elements, and it clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned between rentals.
On the first day, we discovered that a window wouldn’t lock, so we had to block it with a knife during the entire trip. On the second day, we realized we couldn’t open the hatch to fill the clean water tank, and an orange warning light appeared on the dashboard.
Customer support was responsive, and we sincerely thank Thomas for his professionalism. He explained that previous renters had broken the water hatch and that it now had to be opened using two kitchen knives. He also mentioned they hadn’t had time to fix it due to the short turnaround between rentals. They were also aware of the warning light but told us it was not an issue.
It’s disappointing that none of this was communicated beforehand. The company knew about these problems but chose not to inform us.
During our trip, we saw other Waka Campa vans in much better condition, yet rented at the same price. We paid €3,000 for three weeks, which is clearly not justified.
Offering vehicles of different standards is understandable, but transparency and fair pricing are essential.
