Locals took us here or we never would have come due to the long-assed drive.

Amazing spot with a swimmable beach; isolated enough to have a campfire. We had high tide driving in (which made for stunning scenery along the Whanganui Inlet) and low tide shortly after arrival (which was convenient for driftwood harvesting and long beach walks in both directions). Campfire smoke and wind kept some sand flies away but still be prepared with long loose clothing and bug repellent so that you don’t get grouchy.
