After a 19km hike in cold rain and high river conditions, we waited an additional 45 minutes at Muddy Creek, where there is no shelter, only to be told there was “no booking” and no room on the shuttle, despite a timing change arranged the night before through the DOC ranger due to safety concerns.

Driver was just going to drive off but I begged her to take us part-way to somewhere warm and dry, where we were then told to hitchhike back and were later refused a refund. Regardless of any booking confusion, abandoning cold, wet hikers in remote conditions is unacceptable.
