This is the best freedom camping we‘ve ever been to.
There‘s a lot of space for self-contained and non-self-contained vehicles, very clean toilets, a basin for doing your dishes, a dump station, fresh water, … and right next to it there‘s a small “laundry or naked“ laundromat. There‘s also an exhibition that shows the old Lumsden Railway Station, where you can see some old locomotives and carriages.
This campsite has everything you need except showers, so it‘s really ten times better than any DOC campsite that‘s 15$ and only has a dirty long drop toilet.
