Took two young grandchildren camping.
Stayed one night due to Lake Camp being busy. Seemed ok at first glance but quickly realised the place was full of permanent campsites with caravans. Only about 4 sites had people staying. So immediately had an odd vibe. When pitching tent music was turned up by a neighbour to an uncomfortable level. This was to be the party site despite us relocating to another site. Music was so loud despite our initial request to keep it quiet as we had young children. To no avail! This went on until 3am. The most uncomfortable nights sleep in a camp site ever in NZ. There is no office to complain nor police what goes on, so is ideal for boguns to do what they want away from the city. Thanks to McIntosh Construction for behaving like idiots that night and ruining an experience for the kids. I sense that’s not the first time there’s been a party, so feel sorry for others like us who have or will stay there when you are around.
