Putangirua Pinnacles Campsite
Absolutely brilliant spot to camp for the night!
We stayed here NYE wanting somewhere a little quieter to spend the night and it was great. Plenty of pitches available even though there was a few people already pitched up when we arrived. Flushing toilets were clean. Paid online with the DOC and its very reasonable you can pay cash if you go to the info sign near the toilets everything is there that you need. Perfect spot next to the river bed and close to the beach and within a short walk of the trail leading to the Pinnacles. The walk up to the lookout is open but the river bed walk is "officially" closed so if you do it its at your own risk.

Pohangina Valley Lookout
Great little quiet spot with a great view.
We pitched up for the night enjoyed dinner outside watched the sunset and enjoyed the starts. We were there with only 1 other camper. Plenty of space for several campers but only a few spots with the great view. No facilities so need to be self contained.
