1 star is for the actual site.
I don’t recommend the site we had, it was a bit of dirt 4x7 (28 m².) non powered site on the busy Papamoa beach Rd side which doesn’t meet the New Zealand regulations for minimum camp size . Was just enough room for the caravan but not enough room to put awning up and definitely couldn’t fit the car on, when I discussed this at reception all they could suggest was to park the car on the Papamoa Beach Road. unfortunately fully booked so couldn’t move us. We paid $119 a night and unfortunately couldn’t enjoy siting around our caravan.
Strange that they decided to paint the laundry on a peck weekend. Was charging my phone and they painted over the charger 🤭
Showers at 9pm where shut down for cleaning at our block, the spa closes at 9pm so a number of us where put out to walk to a block further away.
They have this cool outdoor cinema which a lot of us campers where getting into a movie then it stopped half way. Other campers chatted with some workers there but after waiting over 30mins we realised they weren’t coming to fix it.
A few things I think they could tweak to make it more pleasant for camper.
But they do have great facilities for kids with the playground outdoor cinema, We did enjoy the pool, spa area and its a great location to the beach and shops, all walking distance.
