Just the perfect place to spend Christmas, we had a wonderful stay at Gentle Annie, as always!

There are so many great spots to pitch the tent, the facilities are beautifully maintained and clean and the Cowshed Café is just awesome. Expertly made coffee, tempting baking and somehow there’s always a table however busy the campsite is. I love that we can use the café as a place to relax, share a family meal and play a board game, which is the perfect entertainment on the rainy days. Then when the sun is out there’s loads to explore nearby. This year we drove up to Karamea to do the Ōpārara walks, quite a long way but well worth it for the drive itself and then the stunning bush walk. We also E-cycled up to the first hut on the Old Ghost Road which again was stunning, such a beautiful part of the world.
