Fabulous views and chilled friendly place on the hillside above the town. We loved it. $20 per person now. Cold showers and basic drop toilets, no powered sites. Can easily take large camper.

Earl is a very welcoming a kind host. The campsite is situated overlooking the water with a great view. The facilities are portable toilets and outdoor cold showers. For $20 for one camper, I felt this was far too expensive for what I got. Nice location, but the facilities leave something to be desired.

Earl was an amazing host and greeted us as soon as we arrived. Had a great chat with this dude and learnt some more about the area. Awesome quaint campsite with all the facilities you actually need. Don't need to be self contained as everything is already here! We'll definitely be back.
Amazing location and Earl is super lovely. You do not need to be a self-contained vehicle as we did not. he has cold showers and toilets and wash up sink/kitchen area. Really cool vibe and definitely would recommend stopping here. $10 per person per night
10 Dollar Place with a Million Dollar view.
Earl is great and will do everything to accommodate you. We came after sunset, got a space even with a larger camper an and enjoyed our stay.
Earl is a great host! Very nice and funny. Even though it says you have to book beforehand, you actually don‘t. Earl will give you a place. We came in the afternoon and he drove his car away, so we could get a place with a beautiful view. It really is amazing, and there were other spots available too, but more and more campers come in the evening.
There are cold showers and Toilets which are ok. Earl does also have a place where you can cook and do the dishes, plus some picnic benches. It isn’t new or anything, but the view and Earl himself male up for it, plus there is still everything you need.
We met a lot of new people.
It is a great place to stay for 10 dollars!
Beautiful, low-key area. Earl is a great guy, very hospitable and informative. If he offers, take him up on a sunrise walk. Earl’s camp provides the basics for campervan/tent camping. Lots of young travelers with great stories.
Earl is hands down one of the kindest and most caring hosts I've had since being in NZ! He has a beautiful property overlooking the coast, and it makes you feel quite at home. I would highly recommend this place, Earl is such a cool guy, so take the time to get to know him!
