Excellent position view out to sea. Lovely especially waking to this. Water toilet & dump station. 20-25 min walk into town.
For a free camp better than some, right next to beach, superb. Clean tidy & all campers respectful of each other. Council & police monitor site. 👍
Lovely seaside spot with toilets and plenty of spaces. Get there early to get a sea view. About a 25?minute walk in to Napier centre.
Great for a free site. Beautiful view, convenient location. Basic toilet, water tap and what looked like a dump station? Right next to a main road and freight train goes through occasionally throughout the night. You’ll need to get in pretty early to get the primo spots along the beach!
Nice place with lovely view and close to city! Toilets where clean and water station. Gets busy later but was enough room. Enjoyed this space a lot.

Great freedom camping spot in walking distance to Napier and surrounded by a bunch of fun stuff. Only reason that it got a 9 is the trains that go past very occasionally during the night. Deffo reccomend this spot
Great location right by the sea with lots of parking for motorhomes. Unfortunately some people are deliberately taking up 2 spaces each or more with their motorhomes, which means other people coming along later have no parks to stay in. Also copped abuse for being parked too close to another motorhome even though we are parked within our park!
Other than that a great place to stay. Even has a public toilet :-)
Very nice campground, lots of space 2 dumpstations and drinking water. 2 toilets they would be very great with a mirror and a shelf or something to put your belongings or even a hook would help ( thats why its only 9/10 *). And there are also some tables and benches under a roof which can be very helpful for eating meals.
Great place to park up, enjoy the sea breeze, enjoy gorgeous sunrises and sunsets with toilets, outdoor shower cold water only, dump station and water.
Everyone parked there was respectful of other campers.

Lovely place on the marine beach with uninterrupted views across the sea. Lovely sunrise. Lots of space. Public toilet, dump station, fresh water. Bit of a lo g walk to supermarket, could have parked there first and done shopping. Yes were close together, but we got chatting to our neighbours on bith sides.

Excellent site fairly close to Napier. I stayed two nights maiy because of a nasty weather threat which didn't really materialize. Went for two 50+ kilometer road bike rides. Being able to take an outdoor shower is such a big plus after such rides. Had front row parking with view of the sea. Can toilets, dumpstation, potable water. No noise issues. Not a 10 because of the lack of "nature."
Nice free self contained campsite. Around 30 spots available, so not your place if you want to be the only one. We arrived around 5pm and still lots of places left. However still nice and quiet space with some noise from the Highway and train. Two public toilets and one cold outside shower for after you’ve been in the see (although it is not recommended to swim there). Also dumpstation and fresh water. Approx 15-20 minuten walk from the city center.
Conviently located close to Napier City.
In order to optimise available space parking is cozy close to your neighbor if it is full.
There are toilets, drinking water, a cold outside shower and a grey water dump station. More than you could ask for without paying. Council checks on the duration of your stay though.
There may be the odd freight train going past in the middle of the night some 100 metres away and they are a little noisy - the only downside of this spot.
Great wee spot. Nice big parking lot just metres from the water. Dump station and fresh water. Clean toilets. Can be a bit noisy with trains but it doesn’t last very long
26Sept18. Nothing really to add to the most recent reviews. Great location. Heard trains in the night. The track and a road crossing just across the road.
Close to the national aquarium. We saw their kiwis about their business including a bit of hanky panky, if you know what I mean!
Now has 2 dump stations and fresh water. Car park close to main road. Excellent views over the ocean. Suitable for larger RV's. More level than most spots. Very popular. 15 minute walk to ctr of town.
Very good place ! Toilets clean and available 24h . Water ( drinkable and not) and dump point.
Beautiful site straight on the front sea!
Only 20min walking to city center.
Lots of spaces and toilets that are open 24/7. On top of that the view is pretty amazing. There is also a dump and fresh water point. A perfect spot!
Parking is great location on the beach. There are larger bays for motorhomes but these are right next to the beach so are prime spots. When we arrived all the large bays were taken by the majority of small non self contained vehicles.
This is a great free spot - level car park right next to the beach. Clean toilets, dump station and fresh water. Great kids playground about 10 minutes walk along seafront. Probably a 15 minute brisk walk to town. Great spot for seeing Napier from.
Great place directly at the beach and super central! With toilet and dump station.
For self contained vehicles only. 2 spacious and clean flushing toilets, an outdoor shower, small bins, drinking water and a dump station. You don't need to look anywhere else to camp in Napier.
Just a car park right on the beach. Plenty of spaces. Don't even bother being here if you're not self contained because you will be moved along. There was a clean, spacious, flush toilet open all night.
This camp is just one for self contained. You are allowed to stay for up to 3 days. Carpark is not big (approximately 25 spaces). There are 2 unisex toilets and rubbish bins. First night we have quite bad morning alarm as people played really loud music at 6am.
Simple enough freedom camping site, the issue we had when staying was that this car park is a popular hangout for the youth of Napier so large crowds of teenagers with cars playing loud music all night. I am writing this review at 6am and they are still going. This perhaps was not the place for a young family to stay.
