Nice quiet location, parking on muddy grass so be careful not to get stuck. Toilets close by open at night.

We loved the seclusion and quiet of this place. The road out to it is easy to navigate, and no sound of traffic when you fall asleep. Short and easy walk to the beach. Plenty of room for campers, but not a huge place.

Love this spot, visiting in June so it is pretty quiet and very windy but it's sunny and a short walk through the wonderful pine forrest leads to a long secluded beach.

Great place to park up for a couple of nights. Flat car park next to the reserve, it gets busy so come early, it’s been full while we’ve been here (late April), I think there’s around 8 campers here. Really quiet at night but car park does get busy during the day. 10 minute walk through beautiful forest to expansive, beautiful beach. My favorite place while touring the Coromandel.

Not large, but level with easy access to the beach and the cove. Great birds to watch and to listen to at night.

Absolutely quiet space for max. 4-5 campers, picnic tables and toilets nearby and an unbelievable wide and lonely (November) beach, access by a well signed footpath through a bright forest.

WOW! One of the best spots we have stopped at. Had the place to ourselves. Decided to stay the 2 nights (maximum allowed). Great if you are into geocaching as there is a trail of about a dozen caches. If not, well "What a beach and with such wonderful views!"

Amazing spot! We arrived at about 4pm and found only 2 campervans already there, by dusk all allocated parks were full (fit maybe 7 vans side by side?). After we parked we walked the 700m through the forest (the way is marked) to the most gorgeous and quiet beach. There were only about a dozen people there playing in the small waves and relaxing on the white sand with a spectacular view of some islands. The water was quite pleasant and not too cold (mid-January stay). We left after one night but if we did this trip again we should stay the two nights allowed. Toilets are available a few meters back up the exit road and there is one picnic table and a small grassy area too.

Small car park next to the Waiponga Reserve where there are several a walking trails. We did the ten minute walk through a pretty forest to a massive beach where we watched some surfers having fun. One picnic table. Views look onto a small body of water with lovely sunsets. There are public washrooms with sinks available. We were the only campers at the site the night we were there. Awesome spot! Thanks.
