Endroit squatté dès 11h du matin par des véhicules qui se disent self contained, ce qui contraint les vrais self contained à aller passer la nuit dans des campings payants. C’est lourd...
Lovely location right next to the beach and only a 10/15 min walk into town. Views in the morning were beautiful. Only limited space but was empty when we visited in September. Toilets block closes at around 10.30pm and reopens at 6am, includes an open shower which we braved (very cold).

A lovely place with a lovely view.
Only 3 spots for sleeping, so might be full when you arrive. Be here early. We were very lucky to get the middle spot even though we arrived at 5 pm.
The view over the ocean is beautiful to wake up to. Make sure to back up into your spot so you get the most out of the ocean.
Only really downside is that the toilets are VERY basic and are closed at night.
But there is a reason that you have to be self contained to stay here.
Great place, beautiful view

Nice camping spot with a lovely view over the water, despite being on the main road. Space for 3 campers and toilets next door with a cold shower. This is inside the toilet block so a little more private than the normal outdoor ones although it doesn’t have a door/curtain. Nice and clean. 10 min walk into town for shops and cafes. Lovely!
All fine, little bit difficult that you back onto the footpath, locals want you to keep path clear. Picnic bench and toilets
A bit strange setting up to camp out in a car park, but what a beautiful view to wake up to! Our favourite free camp spot on Coromandel by far. Only three spaces available which filled up by 4pm when we were there (April 2018 school hols). Toilets are not flash but are clean and close by. Lots of dog walkers and runners use the walking track alongside the camping spots so expect to hear folks around your camper early in the morning. A 10-15min stroll to shops, boats and playground.
There are three spaces so get here early! We arrived at around 3pm and someone tried to pull into our spot while we were straightening up. Public toilets are very close but close overnight. There is a cold shower in both the bathrooms. Only a short walk into town and a there are a couple of takeaway places close by if you want a break from cooking.
Good spot. Officially only fits three. Right by the bay so if you keep windows open might get a bit of noise. Public toilet nearby wasn't that great.
Lovely place right at the beach, waking up with sunrise and sea view, perfect. Toilets and cold showers available and clean. Only a bit noisy because right on the street.
Great free spot for self contained vehicles! Fabulous sunrise, quiet even though next to road. Be aware - do not park outside the two bays as instant $200 fines are issued.
This was a great location with the sound of the ocean crashing at your back door.
Good free camping spot, fab views of the bay, parking is literally at the beach front. Yes, is on the main road although we stayed on a Monday night in December and were the only camper had a very peaceful nights stay very little road noise. Only a short walk to the town centre.
