What an incredible campsite. Imagine waking up overlooking turquoise waters and lush fauna. Kev and his dog Blade are so friendly, the campsite had all the amenities you need - fresh water, showers and even a place to charge your phone. It’s an absolute haven. Can’t wait to go back :)
The property is open and u can stay. Yes he has it on the market but it's still operating This is a stunning property with extensive views. Kev and his family are great value and very laid back. His dog blade is super friendly. We loved the place and have extended our stay here.
Not sure why the last review says he is closed? They must not of even driven up the drive...strange review?
Best place we’ve stayed our full month of driving/camping through NZ! After reading reviews about toilets and showers etc our expectations weren’t that high that’s why it was so wonderful. Kev and his son where super helpful and kind. The most stunning overlook of the ocean and nice big field. Showers and toilets are a little walk down but when we were there everytbing was in order. A bit of a drive up the hill but worth it!!!!!!

Fair enough- other reviews about loos and showers. It’s about managing expectations. We come as we’re self contained and LOVE the position ( on hill overlooking sea), peace and relaxed Kev approach. One side overlooks that view, 2 others into bush or trees so we open back of van and sleep like that with breeze and feel alone. Bring your own loo paper, wee in a bucket overnight ( as a bit of a hike and hard on knees down.)!
Reminded us of 'The Dude' from The Big Lebowski. Lives in a boat. His kid in old pickuptrailer furter down. Amazing view. Cool way to power up your gear with the stairway to 'the office'. All in all great location...except for the facilities. Don't mind the walk down, but they were smelly, worndown and not clean. Bummer because with a little handywork and daily cleaning this would have been 10/10
View is great, but toilets and showers are really rund down. Also do not trust the drinking water. Still not toilet paper, this bring your own.
Far too expensive from what you get.
Payed 35$ for two plus two small kids.
The owner and the others, especially the one playing the guitar was really cool.

Cheap place to stay with a lovely view of Raglan. However, for 10 dollars per person it would be nice to have toilets that aren’t cut half a foot back into a bench, as it leads to you getting a urine residue on the backs of your legs as you sit on the toilet. Further to this, a shower that has an actual head would be beneficial also. As many of them don’t and are just a hose attached to - what looks like - a 1970’s boiler. Failing all of this, just keeping the toilets and showers in a cleaner state would be nice.
Friendly guy, epic location, great dog.
Great location, lots of flat grassy area for camping/cars. Kev is super friendly and helpful. Only $10 each with toilets + shower and fresh water, although not lit and a couple of minutes walk down a hill makes it tricky at night. Great value for money compared to others
Great view. Very friendly welcome. $20 for 2 people in an unpowered campervan. Large open field. Very steep bumpy access hill at entrance. Long unlit but guided downhill walk to showers and toilet. Was no toilet paper at the time. One free hot water shower.
$20 for 2 persons in a car. Only cold water. View is great, but too expensive for what you get. On sunny summer days this location could be really good.
Great place, great views for a good price! Nice and relaxed welcome from Kev. Hot showers, long drops toilets. Spectacular spot to watch the sunset and all of Raglan estuary.
The location here is fantastic, with stunning views of the coast and inlets, Kev was really easy going and welcoming, we had a great chat and he even gave us a tour of his cool houseboat! The facilities are a little lower than would be hoped for 30 dollars per couple sleeping in a vehicle, toilets and showers were a long walk from the camping field and the outdoor sinks for washing did not have water at the time (I believe this was being fixed.) I would definitely recommend this place and would camp here again. But it should be a lower price or better facilities.
Beautiful view, quiet place, nice owner.
Good place to stay and a good welcome.
