Best place we’ve stayed our full month of driving/camping through NZ! After reading reviews about toilets and showers etc our expectations weren’t that high that’s why it was so wonderful. Kev and his son where super helpful and kind. The most stunning overlook of the ocean and nice big field. Showers and toilets are a little walk down but when we were there everytbing was in order. A bit of a drive up the hill but worth it!!!!!!

Fair enough- other reviews about loos and showers. It’s about managing expectations. We come as we’re self contained and LOVE the position ( on hill overlooking sea), peace and relaxed Kev approach. One side overlooks that view, 2 others into bush or trees so we open back of van and sleep like that with breeze and feel alone. Bring your own loo paper, wee in a bucket overnight ( as a bit of a hike and hard on knees down.)!

Reminded us of 'The Dude' from The Big Lebowski. Lives in a boat. His kid in old pickuptrailer furter down. Amazing view. Cool way to power up your gear with the stairway to 'the office'. All in all great location...except for the facilities. Don't mind the walk down, but they were smelly, worndown and not clean. Bummer because with a little handywork and daily cleaning this would have been 10/10
View is great, but toilets and showers are really rund down. Also do not trust the drinking water. Still not toilet paper, this bring your own.
Far too expensive from what you get.
Payed 35$ for two plus two small kids.
The owner and the others, especially the one playing the guitar was really cool.
Cheap place to stay with a lovely view of Raglan. However, for 10 dollars per person it would be nice to have toilets that aren’t cut half a foot back into a bench, as it leads to you getting a urine residue on the backs of your legs as you sit on the toilet. Further to this, a shower that has an actual head would be beneficial also. As many of them don’t and are just a hose attached to - what looks like - a 1970’s boiler. Failing all of this, just keeping the toilets and showers in a cleaner state would be nice.
Friendly guy, epic location, great dog.
Great location, lots of flat grassy area for camping/cars. Kev is super friendly and helpful. Only $10 each with toilets + shower and fresh water, although not lit and a couple of minutes walk down a hill makes it tricky at night. Great value for money compared to others
Great view. Very friendly welcome. $20 for 2 people in an unpowered campervan. Large open field. Very steep bumpy access hill at entrance. Long unlit but guided downhill walk to showers and toilet. Was no toilet paper at the time. One free hot water shower.
