23Sept18. A great site. Quiet, free, by the sea, free, 2 toilets within a very short walking distance.
Room enough for a lot of campers/motorhomes.

Amazing quiet campsite at the end of the road. Flat grassy field that is clearly signposted for camping. Right next to beaut beach and decent flushing toilets a short walk away. Can’t fault it.

Great spot loads of space, although our local friends warned us not to park on the right side (furthest from water) if it is going to rain because it floods that side! Fine If dry weather. Drop Loo is little walk, but good. Quiet camp, plenty of room.

Lovely quiet spot with room for more than a dozen campervans in unmarked spots. Small toilet block a short walk from parking with natural lighting only. Water needs to be boiled before use. Nice walk around the point is quite lengthy and track back past the golf course isn't well marked. Boat ramp with separate parking area sits beside camp site. Only a couple of boats launched dawn and dusk so noise shouldn't be any trouble. Much quieter than site down the road (but no playground for the kids).

10 out of 10. Stunning site at the beach on one side, estuary on the other. Toilets. No other facilities.
The only camping map where each location is approved by every regional council in NZ. So if it shows on the map, you’re allowed to stay.

Great place to stay the night. Only give this one a 9 because you have to be careful after rainfall not to get stuck. We had a great afternoon here with a G&T overlooking the inlet and a good night sleep. Only 5 motorhomes allowed, so first in first served.

A safe quiet spot for 5 self contained vehicles tucked away to the right of the boat ramp. It is a grassy site but low lying so can be very soft and can flood in wet weather. There is a clean toilet block in the reserve and good swimming and fishing in the tidal estuary. As the area is large the council could and should make more sites available.

Took a while to find- tucked around a corner on the right side of the boat ramp and only the 5 official spaces. We got the 5th space and one other s/c stayed, but that was no problem. Can fish from the beach. We were there on a Sat and a group of about 8 cars came and parked in front of us to use the small beach for launching their jet skis for about 5 hours but no biggie.
