Great stay here. 5 mins drive from town or you can walk via the airfield. Friendly hosts and good facilities. Good to see different types of recycling available too. Would definitely stay again
A flat site with toilet and shower block, rubbish disposal including all kinds of recycling. There was a new toilet block too. An easy check in system and only $10 per night. No alcohol camp. The only down side was the sites near the road were noisy as the traffic was very close and fast. Super friendly and helpful hosts. A short walk across to town through the airfield which was an experience in itself! Would definitely camp here again
Really easy check in and a beautiful spot with a walk throw a meadow and along the beach to get into town. Toilets were really gross, they have showers which you pay for hot water but they were too dirty so we didnt use them. Beautiful spot otherwise
Stunning place to stay even in the middle of winter. We turned up at 9pm on a Sunday and could check in with no hassle at all. Fill out a small form and pick a site number. Lovely owners and great facilities.
I ended up staying for 4 nights during Raglan’s summer peak. The owners were sweet and helpful and made sure everyone who needed a place to sleep got in. One can walk along the beach into town, and sweet sunsets. The facilities were basic, bathrooms were out of soap, hot showers for $1 or cold for free, but I would stay again!
Large flat field surrounded by great views. $10 per head. Friendly check-in. Quiet at night. Excellent hot showers. We had a large camper - plenty of space for it. No power but there was drinking water and rubbish disposal. Recommend!
Flat grassy lot with a toilet/shower block on it. Nothing more nothing less. Some friendly permanent campers. Self check-in like a DOC site but with numbered spots. Toilet block could use a ckean, don't understand why people need to leave a mess for others. Didn't spot any rats as mentioned. Lots of pokekes tho.
Has hot showers for $1 for like 3 minutes which was so nice. Plenty of room. Close to the beach. Only thing was there were a lot of rats around.

Two of us camped overnight. Price was good. Good company, and full with orderly and co-operating campers. Experience was spoilt by overloaded sewer from toilet block so that toilets were not flushing. I reported this to the staff in the hut on the gate. I recommend that the sewer be upgraded or not so many campers be allowed to stay.
Great place to stay, 20 mins easy stroll across the paddock and air strip to town. $10 per night per person, easy site check in when unmanned via the pay in envelope and site number tag system. Operators are around late afternoon around 5pm to assign additional sites. Cold and $1 coin hot showers. Tidy facilities, no kitchen. Similar to our DOC run sites.
This place is right up my alley,no power/no wifi lol, fishing is a hop skip and a jump away, toilets should be everybody's responsibility to help keep clean, showers, just happy their's some there lol, I was unfortunate to take the wrong company there one year which could've resulted in me being asked to leave, future note to one's self, behave, show respect for fellow campers and remember to carry on making beautiful memories for our whanau, Nga Mihi Kia Koe Pablou and Moko's your mahi to keep this place going for those who appreciate and love the place is amazingly awesome xoxo
A great place to camp.
Toilets and showers leave a little to be desired but for $10 a night it didn't matter. Great spot next to the beach.
Not far to Raglan and the surf beaches. Huge site was completely booked out for the Easter weekend. Can pay by cash or card. The booth is occupied twice daily and there is a number to text if there is no one there. In response to some of the other reviews left. You can't judge a site on the weather you experienced! I think the site is ran by the marae so take that into account when you stay.
This is a camp ground with basic facilities. Great location. You get what you pay for.
In terms of value for money (other than free!) $10 a night is pretty good. Close to town and raglans great surf spots. Basically a field with about 45 parking spots (no power) with flushing toilets, free cold and $1 hot showers (mechanism was broken when I was there so it was FREE hot showers!) Just up the road is the river mouth where you can watch the sunset and chill out. Friendly owner who is there taking payment till 5pm after which you pay by money in envelope. YOU WILL BE CHECKED so don't try be sneaky. I was happy to stay two nights and would stay again.
$10 per person, per night, close to beach, dirty facilities, but cold showers for free and hot showers for a dollar and water supply. Room to do the dishes. No power.
Close to the beach, toilets, coin operated showers, bins. There was no one there when we arrived but there's an easy system to sign in. Close enough to Raglan too.
Quiet and close to the beach.
Terrible. The worst night that I spent in one week in NZ. I expected a place like this, a big field with few and not so good facilities, but the wind was so strong that I couldn't sleep all night. The good thing was that there was no one to pay, so we didn't spend anything for this terrible night!
It is just a field, a big field open to the wind and noise from anyone who pulls in next to you. Furthermore, we stayed at free sites with better facilities. I would find a different site next time.
A large flat quiet area set back from the Raglan Estuary. However considering the state of the toilets and cold water shower, that require urgent cleaning,.at $10 per person per night, the price was a little expensive.
Raglan was not motorhome friendly and if the district wants tourist visiting the area and contributing to the local economy the Waikato DC must provide camping areas, compared to other local bodies they are well behind the eight ball. It was our intention to stay a few nights, but due to what we found we stayed only one and wont be going back.
What I expected for $10 a night. Toilet and shower block, drinking water, showers were cold apart from the coin operated one. Lots of space and excellent location.Great for for $10.
Campground was quite big, but nothing there. Toilet and shower were not clean. For the price of $10 per person, it was not worth the money. Unfriendly staff.
$40 per night. I did not like this site as much as the others I have been to as it seemed more a site with permanent, delapidated caravans which sit for years. Did not have a nice feel and expensive for what is was.

One big flat grass field with enough places and clean. Nearby the beach but no view on it. It cost $10 p.p. without power. There are toilets, cold showers and a water tap. Nearby Raglan surfing area.
Great at $10 a night. Toilet and shower block, drinking water, showers were cold but cannot complain for $10.
Excellent. Near beaches. Only $10 per night with cold showers and toilets and drinking water taps.
This has been renamed Te Kopua Whanau Camping Ground. Nice large flat scenic field and basic but clean facilities. 10NZD per person, without power. So OK value for money.

Large field to park/tent in. Cold showers. Clean toilets. Drinking water available. Just a short walk to the beach. Good location for just $5 a person.
$5 per night, cold shower, big field where you can camp, okay.
