Being the Regional Information Centre for the Coromandel, and main bus depot, the Thames Information Centre is a hive of activity.

Very good information, helpful, friendly people, nice to have WiFi, very good brochures, clean toilets, sometimes a shower.

Friendly staff, got more than I asked for.

We got good information about the Pinnacles for free.
Horrible customer service. Could not answer simple questions about camping then wanted to charge me to use their internet to figure it out myself.

The manager (Maureen) insisted in front of other customers that I make a donation because I charged my phone for five minutes (with permission). I had already used and paid $2 for 15 minutes computer time. Donation by definition is voluntary. If this i-Site insists on donations, it would be nice if they re-worded their 'donation' box. This is the only i-Site with a donation box so far and we have visited approximately 10 with 18 days to go.
Good and fast service for free.
Extremely helpful in all i-sites. They give you ideas to make your trip personal, and to meet your budget which is really important!! They also gave us practical information, information on next towns when needed, and some discounts.
We asked a lot about Coromandel and she helped us a lot. Also advised about the camping and pricing. Most i-sites we went were really friendly and helped us great and they were easy to find.
