We went out for a guided curator's tour and it was incredible! We got to learn so much about why and how the area was planted and to see the vision for the future. Highly recommend getting the guided tour and stopping at the cafe and gift shop to pick up a treat.

Lovely walk during a sunny day. Lots of mature and exotic trees. Nice lookout.

Pleasant stop off if you are passing, not sure I would go a long way out of the way to visit this. It is a long way off the beaten track. Strange also to be visiting a collection from the Northern hemisphere, having just come from the Northern hemisphere. Still a very pleasant walk in the woods. Visitor centre was excellent and you there is overnight accomodation available as well. The huge ball of marble suspended by water pressure was fascinating.

Even if you don't particularly like trees, Eastwoodhill Arboretum is one of NZ's hidden treasures. So much thought and effort has been put into this place. And it shows.
