We plan to aerially apply non-toxic prefeed on Thursday 23 June. The operation is dependent on a fine weather window. Southern Remutaka areas are still open except for the day that we aerially apply the non-toxic pre-feed – sandy coloured pellets.
After the pre-feed and when the weather is good, the next step is to apply bait containing biodegradable 1080 – green coloured pellets.
How to keep dogs, other pets and livestock safe around 1080
This operation is part of an OSPRI TB control operation to protect native species.
