Great experience, saw so many seals!! Great walkway around the cliffs as an easy walk or you can go further outside to walk the wet stones and sandbanks. But please follow the rules and respect the animals!!

15Oct18. We were here in 2014. What a difference since the earthquake. Last time we parked our van overhanging the wall a little and the waves splashed up over us. This time the waves didn’t get anywhere near.
On the plus side there is the old sea bed to walk on and the seals are still there but further out.
Don’t forget to go up the cliff walk at least to the first lookout.

Beautiful views of the town and of the ocean. A nice loop walk with several alternative routes, appearing to be safe in high tide also, but be careful as always. Car park available. We saw a seal resting on the walkway from the car park. Enjoy them, but keep your distance - it’s their habitat, not yours.

There is a small parking site at the highway north of Kaikoura, very nice spot to watch the seals playing and relaxing! I like it alot! Only bad point is that there are no signs on the highway and if you don't know where to find it, you will not find it.

Very vain seals! They posed and struck all sorts of shapes for the pictures. They simply could not get enough. Seagulls enjoyed riding on top of the cars too.

It is a really nice walkway and the experience of watching a seal colony is amazing! Something that could be improved, comparing it to other locations, is more information poles or boards.

More than enough seals for everyone and their mother. If you want to get a close look at these creatures - this is the place to be. Just be mindful of your step, some of those seals take quite long naps.

You may get very close to the seals and possibly walk on the rocks at low tide. Easy grade coastal walk with good views.

Not as many seals as expected, perhaps this was due to the tide.
