Beautiful spot with panoramic views overlooking farmland lakes and bush. Slightly off the beaten track (20 mins on a gravel road) but worth it. Toilet clean and relatively new long drop and a picnic table.

Was a massive frost down below but not up there.

Great location with awesome views. Our map app sent us the long way up
But it was worth it. Quite a bit of travel on a dirt road to get here. Toilet was ok. No toilet paper but relatively clean for a long drop. Land slopes a bit so get there early for a flat spot or you could be rolling onto the person next to you at night time

A hidden gem! Great views over the stunning NZ countryside and very peaceful. Google coordinates in this app lead us directly to the site

Amazing spot on the top of a hill with stunning pastoral views over the plains. Would be pretty exposed in anything more than a breeze as there is no shelter (hence the views!)
Limited flat areas for campervans. Single toilet (newish and clean), potable water tank on site, one picnic table.
You are not “in” the bush. The bush reserve is in a gully beside the campsite. Unfortunately, it’s not typical native bush as it’s seriously affected by invasive smothering vines. But we experienced friendly Fantails and delightful Bellbirds, despite seeing no evidence of pest control.
In clear weather, you should get spectacular sunsets and sunrises, and a brilliant night sky.
Different, but pleasant spot for fine weather camping.

This takes a bit of awareness to find as you travel the back roads, but the views are absolutely worth it.

There's a picnic table at one end and a large long drop (with toilet paper!) as well - bonus!

There's a couple of walking tracks too, of you're keen :)

Couldn't find the exact spot, as there are no roads leading to the spot on the Rankers app map, but ended up parking on a small gravel road nearby with sheep fields on both sides of the campervan. Super pretty landscape, awesome nighttime star view, and best of all: super quiet and no cars coming by during the entire night. No toilets or any facilities though.

This campsite will be closed from mid April to allow forestry harvesting operations. It will reopen later in the Spring to allow time for ground repairs / oversowing etc to take place.
