Loved the walk up to magic Rock and the lookout. Gorgeous native bush, stream and river swimming opportunities.
We camped here, fresh water and toilets provided, very friendly, relaxed and welcoming staff.

You must go here! This place is incredible. Not only can you come for the day but they have paid camping as well, which we highly recommend. Great toilets, filtered water, a cute cafe on site and a range of farm animals. The walk up to magic rock is well worth it. Also be sure to find the swimming hole and cool off after your hike. The owners are extremely friendly. Incredible family run business that you must check out.

Absolutely amazing location and brilliant place to camp with parking and picnic tables. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly! Unbelievable view from atop the "magic boulder" and a glorious little swimming hole within the boulders walk.

Brilliant hosts! Really enjoyed the campsite. It was great for star gazing in beautiful surroundings.
The boulders were impressive. Photos don't do them justice! Really interesting reading about how they were formed. Lots to explore including a swimming hole. The gravel road is no problem to drive just take your time and enjoy the views.

It is a nature path created by a Swiss couple, we paid $15 and it was well worth it. It was nice to walk through a landscape made with so much love. Really, really beautiful.

It was a cool spot with incredible rocks. Nice walk between the rocks but a little short. A great job was done with this place!

One of the most beautiful places i ever visited. Very nice landscape and a big number of trees, bushes and fern. A well constructed walking path indcluding bridges and stairs runs from the parking space to the plattform with a great overview over the valley. I enjoyed the pure nature and the tranquillity of this wonderful place.

A 2 hour track following a creak, passing over loat of wooden bridges and stairs! Walking among the native forest of New Zealand, admiring the force of nature, and, finally, the view from the top part of the track with all those boulders, it was amazing!

Wetook a detour around the Hokianga Harbour to the Wairere Boulders and found this gem of a valley tucked away between bush and farmland, along a gorgeous river, what a superb location - this was the true New Zealand we were looking for! First we were greeted by friendly chickens and then the lovely owners welcomed us and said we shouldn't miss the top viewpoint. There is also a very informative exhibition inside a farming shed about the formation of the boulders and much more. The track follows the river upstream and soon the boulders begin, together with the tree ferns and other trees it feels like an exotic jungle or filming location. Lots of adventurous bridges and steps on the way, all the way to the top and true, the view should not be missed! Really weird how all those huge rocks collapsed upon each other - apparently this is unique in the world. Great stop to stretch your legs!

This boulder adventure made my trip though Northland! It was the highlight and I recommend everyone making the effort to check it out. It takes about an hour and the owners have really taken the time to make the trip special. It is really unique.
