We usually stay here and although it may not be everyones cup of tea we like it. The surrounding trees and landscape is nice and I find it is quite peaceful. I like it that there are other friendly campers around and that helps to make you feel safer.
Each camping location is approved by a regional council in NZ. So if it shows on the map, you’re allowed to stay.

Felt very unsafe here as there are people living in tents full time at the site. Good toilets but just a scary place to stay, we left in the middle of the night due to loud music, drinking and yelling.

some dodgy cars and people around,

It’s a big carpark next to a sports oval and athletics track. There are toilets in the aths clubhouse, but the gate gets locked at night. It was reasonably quiet but pretty sure we saw a drug deal take place! There were a few other campervans staying there too.
