Cute, sheltered hostel/campsite on a hill. Placed a bit off the beaten track, you arrive after a challenging drive, steep and winding. The hostel itself is small but looked cosy. We stayed on the campsite with full equiped kitchen. Unfortunatly the hill on which the tentsites are, is very steep. Sites are extremely small, only a little tent will fit. We had a wet couple of days, which resulted in puddles under the tent and a scary, slippery walk towards the toilets. On a nice day, the place will probably be much more enjoyed!
Sehr schön gelegener Campingplatz! Fahrt bis zum Platz selber etwas abenteuerlich (kleine Campers von Vorteil). Tolle Aussicht!
Schafe und Hühner laufen auf Campingplatz umher. 4 saubere Toileten. Warme Duschen. Nur 1 Kochherd in der Küche. Nettes Personal. Haben uns tolle Wanderungen vorgeschlagen. Würde sofort wieder gehen!!
Great views, facilities are excellent (washing machine, clean flushing toilets, hot showers, washing fine, equipped kitchen). Free WiFi (and if you reach your limit you can buy more for super cheap!). Add in the roaming farm animals and it makes for an awesome wee get away!

Perfect start in New Zealand for me travelling alone in a campervan (15 NZD). It is tricky to get there, but it is worth it. I stayed 2 nights there. If you like walkes/hiking, you can start directly from the camping ground. Toilette/hot shower was clean and free WiFi. There is also a washing machine (coins needed) and you can use the kitchen cooker.
Very nice place to stay. Friendly Staff, good and clean facilities, even a heater in the room. Wifi connection was bad in the rooms, but okay in common areas. We were offered free vegetables and fruits. However, it is a bit pricey. All in all a good stay.
Beautiful veiw. Very backpacker vibe place less, freedom camping vibe. Facilities were good. Bit of a hike to get to, steep driveway.
What a peaceful place ! Simple toilets and showers but for us perfekt. We got Energie after having some trouble with our rental.

Gorgeous view, the road is very narrow, ok for a small campervan only.
Access to the site was fine in our small van but a challenge for bigger vehicles. Helpful and friendly staff, and a large field for camping etc, a few sloping parts though. The views were fantastic and the walks were well marked and away from any traffic.
The toilets and shower were clean and basic, the kitchen shelter a friendly place to spend the evening.
Amazing staff. Nice facilities surrounded by beautiful nature. The camping is designed to give you the sensation to be connected with the environment and people. Good vibes. There are some walks from the campsite you can take up to the mountains. Do not hesitate if you are around!!!
We loved this happy hippie camp site! The staff is really nice and welcoming. The van park is a field with nice views on the bay and a cosy communal area. Be sure to arrive early because the field fills up quickly. The showers are really nice, especially for tall Dutchies like us! And the funniest thing was when we woke up we saw sheep everywhere!
Special, amazing and good facilities. Nice people.
A campsite on a sheep farm with a lovely view of the sea. Great kitchen facilities and hot shower for $25NZD per person for 2 nights.
Great view. Had a wonderful time, would stay again.
So idyllic. Such a nice place to sleep. Met a lot of kind people! Nice walks nearby and very nice activity’s as swimming with the dolphins. Especially nice because of the small groups.
Great staff, great location, great facilities - really home from home. TV room etc......
Well cared for, friendly staff, beautiful setting with opportunity for great hikes.
Awwesome setting and basic but comfortable facilities.

Beautiful surroundings remote and quiet. Friendly staff, nice small-scale activities like kayaking and swimming with dolphins in Akaroa Harbour.
