The pictures don't do it justice. The most amazing clear blue water. Take the track down to the rocks and build a cairn but watch out for the sand flies. Short walk from the car park and good chance to stretch tired legs.
There are several trails here. The pools are a touristthing and not very special. Swimable, not jumpable. Maybe after heavy rain or in spring. But please take the time to walk further (Young track) you'll pass two better swingbridges, beautiful divers scenery and no people. This one is about 90 minutes return.
So gorgeous, so tempting! Great swimming spot. It IS cold. Witnessed plenty of jumps from the swingbridge...not so keen on being introduced to the temperature of the water that way. A gentle dip can be had down below the bridge. Amazing place for rock skimming and stacking. Photo ops from all angles.
Well worth the short walk in...beautiful!
Water was very pretty but I did expect a little more.
Good short hike and nice place to stretch your legs. Neat pools.
Some great scenery, especially crystal clear water you can swim in. Super cold but super worth it. Not a lot of other areas where you can explore the blue pools.
The cleanest water you will ever see! Awesome photo spot.
Awesome pools, great bridges, jumping off the second bridge is the best!
Walk towards the Blue Pools was nice despite the many sandflies. However, in December, the pools are greenish and not blue. Furthermore, the pools are more half circles in the river edges.
After an amazing road between the Lakes Hawea and Wanaka, a nice stop to chill.
You walk through a nice little forest until you get to the river with beautiful blue water, it is worth a stop if you are on the Haast Road.

Nice and easy walk from the carpark.
Short and easy walk from the parking, well signed, great place to visit, beautiful!
Gorgeous walk, unfortunately one bridge was under maintenance.
The best short walk around Haast Pass. Turquoise clear water.
Very touristy, free, not a tramp but well formed tracks. Beautiful place but lots of people.
Amazing wonder of the world!
Ferry and Carlyn
Beautiful area! First bridge wiggled a lot!
A quick 30 minute return trip that you won't regret!
Nice short walk if you need a break. Beautiful clear water, but ice cold. A lot of sandflies!
One of the most beautiful places to swim (in my opinion). Stunningly clear water and a bridge to jump off.
Really cool bridges on this walk, and beautiful views of the blue river! Also, cool rock riverside with flat rocks excellent for stacking which many have done!
Great 30 minute walk to wonderful pools through rainforest. Able to take the kids stroller!
DOC walk, short but nice, great with kids as they can play forever at the river side.

Beautiful blue colours. Crystal clear water. Too much sandflies. Great for swimming.
Nice short walk, maybe 20 minutes to a stunning location. Opportunities to swim or just enjoy the view.
Incredibly blue water. Possible to jump from the bridge. Nice location. Stone beach in the sun to spend time.
Amazing, short 30 minute walk, you can swim in natural, blue pools with ice cold water.
The walk is very well organised, at the start of every walk it says the amount of kilometres and minutes of every single walk (like all walks in general in New Zealand). A very nice walk, highly recommend it!
Nice little walk but very impressive blue water at the end of a 20 minute track. Good swimming but a lot of sandflies. Postcard picture like.
Lovely pool but chances of seeing a fish limited due to stone throwing and swimming tourists.
Very pretty, nice and short walk.
Cora and Franzi
Short walk to the Blue Pools where you can take a refreshing bath in the most stunning turquoise water.
Really nice place, in sunshine a good stop between a long ride. Unfortunately the location indicated here is wrong, it is actually further down the road approx. 1km behind cameron flat heading south.
It is not a long way walking and you can see the Blue Pools with the nice blue water.
Nice stop by the way, shady walk to a blue pool.
Fantastic walk through the forest and a swinging bridge. Watching 'blue' clear/water and stoney riverbed.
Short walk (less than 30 minutes), but definitely worth the visit. Good and easy access.
Good signpost to find, beautiful nature, forest and flowers.
Anne and Steve Bartlett
Short walk to very blue pools, 1/2 hour return, great for kids, who loved the swing bridge.
Fantastic walk, once you get to the Blue pools. Venture further down the track along the river, nice shade trees, not strenuous, amazing scenery, stunning views.
Way to the Pools leads through stunning bush environment.
Beautiful, easy to reach.
lovely easy walk, even in the rain, fun bridge to cross for the kids and then wow, you just want to dive in.
Best place to swim in New Zealand.
Easy and beautiful.
Nice clean walking trail.

Well worth the stop off, a 40 minute return trip.
Thomas & Ruth Hardmeier
Very nice, clean walking instruction on the signs.
lovely little walk, nice bridge to cross, and like almost everywhere else the walk was excellently maintained. The pools were very blue.
Good track, pools not blue.
Margit and Corein Groenevelt
Nice short walk to pools/river, worth seeing.

We have only done short walks such as Fox Glacier and the Blue Pools but have found all walkways clear, well signposted and well maintained.
Nice stroll to do with a baby stroller - nice hanging bridge.
Really blue water and a lovely hangin bridge. Our first encounter with millions of sandflies. Every spot has to be covered with insect repellent!
A drive out of town and a short scenic walk through old forests with information along the way. The blue pools are a lovely natural site to see.
Leontine van Laar
Nice walk to take a break from driving. Walk 15 min and go over a bridge to see very blue pools. A very nice walk.
Gillian de Vries
Worth a stop. Lovely forested walks. Easily accessed by all.
Beautiful 15 min return walk to beautiful blue ponds & 2 lovely swing bridges.
A lot of information about the road makers extremely clear water.
Very short walk, but takes you to the clearest and bluest water lagoon/gorge you will ever see in your life!! Be prepared for 0 degree temperature water.
Really nice short walk, for any fitness level. If you like you can then decide to walk further thru the bush.
