Biked ion the nice scenery, tasted wine and picked cherries. A beautiful day, and for originally from the Netherlands, it was very nice to bike in a flat land.
Many wineries have free tastings. Lots of fun.
Beautiful wineries with complimentary tastings made for a great day.
if you are not the designated driver, you can enjoy a wide range of wines for free. We did it by bike (we did pay for the bike rental), but none of the wineries we stopped at charged for wine tasting. Do ask before as some of them do. We enjoyed the freedom and flexibility this option gave us.
We went to eight different vineyards throughout Marlborough. Some (like No.1 Family Estate, Hunters, Brancott, Villa Maria do free tastings).

Hired bikes for $15 as we were on site - gave us a map of vineyeards and eating places, great fun!!!!
Walk or hire a bike from 'Watson Lodge' and cycle around the free cellar door tastings.
Best ones for sake of visiting would be Saint Claire, Villa Maria not all charge for tasting but worth visiting. And of couse, Makana Chocolate Factory, free tastings, visible cooking and great taste!

Very nice!! We did the tour by bike. The roads are a bit dangerous for cyclists but the vineyards and wineries are great.

Just hire a bike and make a tour through all the nice wineries in Marlborough. Some are for free and some have just a little fee for it. But you can taste great wines.
Pick up a wine trail map and visit each winery by yourself for free tastings! You will explore the difference between NZ and Aus wines.
The best way to sample lots of great wine in the Blenheim area. Splash out on lunch at Highfields (we recommend the platter for 2 - yummy) and get some strawberry icecream on the way from the pick your own place - very good ice cream!

Had a very nice, enjoyable informative afternoon in the region. Staff at Grove Mill winery are very snobby though, would go elsewhere.

Friendly, informative staff, tasting excellent wines.
Great experience, Wairau River Wines was the best!!
Excellent set up in all the vinyards we visited. (Only complaint! Highfield restaurant charged $2.50 for extra bread!)
Get a bike and head off for free wine tasting for the day. Flat roads and the only downfall is the speeding drivers.
Lots of wineries do free tastings of amazing wines eg. Cloudy Bay you get 5 free (large) tasings. Great way to learn about wine and get tipsy for free ( some corkage though)
Quiet, rural, expensive wines! tasting for $5 is good.
Every one well worth seeing! didn't feel pressured into buying wines ...but we did!Well worth it to increase your knowledge of wine!
Rent bikes for a winery trip around Marlborough.
Either paid through food and some tastings or some places are unpaid. Great wine!!
Very good option. Take a bike and don't drink and drive!
Cycle the vineyards of Marlborough Valley - a great way to wine taste!
