Very picturesque and peaceful. Nice flat grassy site. Almost empty in early March. Small path down to river...good for a dip after a tramp up to The Pinnacles or round Billy Goat Trail.

Small but beautiful DOC camp with long drop toilets. There are 8 DOC camps in the Kauaeranga Valley, when you come here, make sure you find the right camp for you. We were here in late November and some of the DOC camps in Kauaeranga Valley had large groups of noisy teenagers. Beautiful nature walks, highly recommended!
