23Sept18. Great park with loads of walks. It looked like the walks would be ok in wet weather but don’t hold me to that!
It seemed that most tourists do the shorter walks. We did a longer one and most of the time felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. No chance of getting really lost though as the walks are well signed.
The visitor centre is touristy as you might imagine. We liked the look of the treetop walk but felt it a little too expensive for us and anyway the walk options are so good.
23Sept18. Brill place with free walks. You could feel lost within the woods but the different trails are well marked.
The Centre is good but tourist orientated. We would have liked to do the treetop walk but we decided the $25 each was too much.
Beautiful tracks and forest! There are many options to choose from ranging from short 30 minute walks to the 8 hour hike. Loads of bike trails around the area too. A popular place but extremely spacious to share
Nice, relaxing day.
A great selection of walks ranging from strolls to longer hikes, all in the beautiful forest. Wished we had time to go back and do another of the walks.
Great, easy and free. The trees are amazing and the one hour trail was perfect for us to bring our bany on.
Impressive redwood forest, just for walking, many different walks are possibly and at no cost!! Full of people though.

Great walk through an amazing forest. These trees are wonderful, I can highly recommend this walkway.
Great forest, great walk.
Great short tree walk high in the canopy. Safe and child friendly. Informative information boards along the walk. A great hour spent.
The walk was nice, but sometimes the directions was not really clear.
Nice walk, although it was among non-native trees.
Awesome walk through the Redwoods and up to the lookout where you can see the geyser.
Nice views of the forest, volcanic/thermal area, stunning climb. The last part of the track is following a long paved road. Not a nice ending of a great walk.
Beautiful forest with great red trees and many different birds. The path was very nicely set for people to walk on. The scenery is astonishing with the whole forest life surrounding us throughout the walk.

A very spectacular area with nice walks of various ambitions.
Great views of thermal springs from above. Good information point and lots of choices for walks. Some more information would be good. Still good fun.
We took the Yellow Trail. A two hour walk which only gets steeper as you divert to the lookout over the thermal springs. You could wait there to see the big geyser blow its top.
It was beautiful, we made a one hour walk. I listened to the nature and enjoyed the day.
We did a short 15 minute walk from the carpark and liked it. Very calming beneath the huge trees. Definitely worth a look!
Very dramatical but beautiful walk throughout the enormous trees. You could also walk up in the trees on a built trail but it was way too expensive for me. I liked the trail from the ground better.
Nice easy walk with a great native vegetation (2 hours). You can see many of these red trees! Refreshing on a hot summers day.
Nice walk circuit through the Redwoods. Not too long and suitable for families. I would do it again!
Nice one hour walk circuit through the Redwoods. It is not too long and suitable for families. Would do it again!!
Nice walk with a fantastic forest, the best choice to do this walk in summer because of the cool breeze and the shade.
A great place for a walk, 30 mins to 8 hrs, or for mountain biking or horse riding. You can pay $15 for a treetop walk, which is cool. There are funky clean toilets, good coffee and an information centre/shop. Great for a cloudy day and budget conscious traveller.
The walk in the Redwood Forest is really beautiful, but the extended track is quite uninteresting most of the time. Free.
Nice walk, well maintained, park is well organised.
Very nice. Beautiful. Well worth doing for a few hours or more.
Beautiful trees and nice calm feeling in the forest - great walks for all levels, very peaceful.
Access savings worth hundreds of $$ on Top Ranked NZ Accommodation and Activities for just $1 per day.
Lots of different walks. We did the longest one and it was quite nice but became a bit boring over the hours.
Very beautiful walk through the forest. The information site has plenty of walks to do depending on how long you want to hike for. Highly recommend.
Giant trees! So the centre of the park is nice but there is a longer walkway which is really not worth it!
Beautiful walks through the Redwood Forest from short 30 minute strolls to longer routes around the whole area.
For me they were just not that impressive by walking! I think better if you are mountain biking.
Stunning forest setting with amazing giant Redwoods. Great views out across Rotorua (if you climb the hill!). Good facilities, information and walks. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
If you are in Rotorua, you should visit. But just to go to Rotorua for that it would not be recommended. There are several walks through the forest, all well marked. The Redwoods are nice, but for my taste all too artificial.

Nice if you haven't seen redwoods before.
We probably chose the wrong path with the 2hr yellow loop. This loop gets you along a logging site without trees and a busy road for the last 2km. Not so much to see during the walk as well. Worthwhile point was the lookout, you have a nice view of Te Puia and can see the geyser Puhutu - without paying the NZD 48 entrance fee.
Nice different walks, you can choose for every fitness level the right track, beautiful lookouts and great toilets.
Amazing 50m + Redwoods. Sight to be seen from underneath looking up at them swaying in the wind. Very cool fresh springs are an added bonus to this great spot. Must see.
Gorgeous big redwoods. Amazing size, and in amongst them - fresh springs that gush out millions of litres of water every hour.
Great walk around the blue and green lake, takes 8 hours, sometimes the signage is not visible.
Amazing landscape and very long and hard walk.
Thank You - to the thousands of travellers that have contributed to our Top Voted NZ Activities Map - it's free from Rankers.
Beautiful forest which offers you a lot to do.
The Redwood forest is a must when visiting Rotorua. Beautiful, tranquil and free. The visitor centre is an excellent facility with lovely wood turned utensils using local wood and craftsmen.
Top class tracks.
5 minutes from town. Easy 45 minute track through gorgeous Redwood forest.
Bit of an irritating walk along highway but beautiful walking tracks, also lots of mountain biking tracks, gorgeous redwood trees.
Fantastic possibility for short or longer walks with many tall Redwood trees.
Great, free accessible walk in the forest next to Rotorua with amazing, giant red trees (originating from California).
Lovely tracks through Redwoods and forest. Selection of time walks on a loop.
Very beautiful and well organised!
Impressing forest with well-marked walks and nice viewpoints.
Brilliant - lots of different length walks to go on. Plaques on trees to give information about trees, really good.

Beautiful forest walk through a lush forest around Blue Lake.
Lots of walkways, in a forest with really big trees and a strange spirit. +++
Beautiful walk, guide.
Choice of several well marked walks through the forest. Not the wildest excursion, but very pleasant and we got to see a geyser erupting for good measure.
A strange experience as we hike through redwood forests at home but the birdlife was so different. Close your eyes and stand still & you hear a delightful chorus of birdsong. Nice cool place on a hot day.
Worth going through the redwoods to the other areas. We chose an easy hike of about 3 hours.
For us it the giant redwood forest was less exciting than hiking through native NZ rainforest & because of the height of the trees, there were fewer scenic vistas but good views back to Rotorua.
Nice walk and funny for the kids.
Good track if your into seeing a few redwood trees, a couple of nice views of the city, not quite worth the walk though.
Nice shady forest of massive Redwood trees that have 5 or 6 walking/bike paths mapped out for up to 8 hours! Free of charge - fantastic!
Great walk, varies quite a bit, especially like the areas with the huge ferns. Best of all, no mosquitoes!
Andy & Louise Dutton
Multitude of tracks varying upon fitness and time. Very pretty place.
An awesome canopy of huge Redwood trees. Plenty of birdlife, 5 or 6 walks of different times and lengths. If you only do 1 walk go here!!.
Beautiful - the trees are so huge. You can walk, mountain bike or ride your horse in this area. But many people we spoke didn't know about the fact that the trees are now a memorial to forestry workers who served in the War.
Well signposted shortwalks with stunning views.
really good walks through forests - lots of giant redwoods. clearly marked.
Peaceful and magnificent forest. Great for relaxing.
Great walks in clean air.
Beautiful forest with California red high trees. Nice track even in rainy weather. 30 mins to 3 hours.
