This was a brilliant find on our way north to Hanmer, so much so that we stayed here on the way back too.
Flushing toilets, sinks and hand driers in the bathrooms, flat sections, playground and tennis courts, and just a minute across to the beach. Nice and sheltered and fantastic price point. We went unpowered for $5 per adult, but powered sites were also available for $18 per campervan.
Fantastic brewery with wood fire pizzas 5kms back up the road, a great place for dinner if you are wanting a change from BBQ dinners!

Flat lawn area, only few toilets, no showers, dumpstation available.
Single highlight is the beachfront with kilometers of walks in both directions. Perfect for dog-owners!

Small/medium campsite with clean toilets, dump station and water. All the basics. Nice quiet location next to the beach. Choose your own location so you can be as social or as private as you want! Supermarket down the road. Highly recommended to avoid the tourist trap!

A very quiet place, cheap as $5 for unpowered spot 1 person/van. Got busier as the evening came on so for the spot you want i’d reconmend pilling in by 6pm latest. There are two ends (North and South). Close to beach and some nice little walks. Toilets clean but overall the place is a little outdated however a cheap stay so no complaints.

Two big yards. Clean, good value for money and ok if you have nowhere else to go for the night. Setting is nothing special, though it is a short walk to a shingle beach.
We were there in high summer and found the ground super hard when it came to setting up a tent - definitely bent a few pegs.
A clean and cheap option if you're passing through.

Two very large areas on the left and right side of the road. Right side is for dog owners. It has toilets and is where the dump site is situated. There are also two or three power posts each with 3 or 4 power points. Left (north) side is also very large with 3 power posts each with 4 power points. The toilets are newer on this side but no dump site. Neither site has pressurised town supply water that we could find apart from at the dumpsite. The blue honesty box for both sites is well in from the street in the left hand (north) side. Please be sure to pay as $15 for two people for this sort of camp is quite cheap. It also has CCTV camera's so the sites are very safe. While in Amberley we had a $12 lunch time special steak meal that was excellent value at the Amberley Hotel. Their other prices are quite reasonable as well.

Powered site for the night with site right next to the beach. Great difficulty in finding the honesty box as it was at the far end of the opposite camping ground. Toilet, water and dump station is all we needed for a great nights stay.

A gorgeous gem close to Christchurch and the perfect launching point into North Canterbury. Situated close to the beach but far enough away to remain sheltered this open, flat extremely well kept campsite is one to hit. $15 for 2 Adults with power is a bargain. Basic clean facilities, no showers. The north camp is a little more inviting than the south camp. Close to Amberley and amenities, spend a day or two here!

Excellent low cost option as a last night stopover prior to departure from Christchurch next day. Approx 50 km drive to Airport, allow 1 hour to be sure. Just $15 for powered site, no hot water but has clean flush toilets. South side is best, plus dump station located there. Friendly long termers.
