Alfred Stream Reserve

Information

A small picnic area next to Alfred Stream over the bridge from the Rai Valley township. This grassy reserve has lovely flowers and is obviously well cared for, there is a donation box to ensure this place keeps maintained. There is a toilet and a picnic shelter.

06Oct18. A nice little spot best suited to small campers but we managed with our 7.7m motorhome.
Full up when we were there.
Quiet enough spot. Drop loo up a bit of a rise. We know where you’re going!

There is no water other than the river which is surrounded by farmland, which makes it unsafe to drink. Water can be found in town a minute away. Despite this it's not a bad place to spend a night.

Very windy and lots of bugs but close to Pelorus Bridge and the French Pass which are both worth a stop.

Spent the night before we headed to Pelorus Bridge (only 10 minutes away). Good View of mountain and creek behind the park. Small site with one toilet. Was already nearly full.

Nice spot for one night close to the highway. It was raining a lot and we feared to get stuck, because there was a warning sign. We didn't! Drop toilet nearby and a river.

Great free location with clean drop toilet. No tap for water but a stream nearby. Area to cook and bbq but it was being used and busy when we were there. Looooaads of sand flies so make sure you have repellant!!

Very tidy spot. Right next to the highway but not so noisy as there is a speed limit to 60 km/h. Excellent covered picnic table and there is even a wood-operated barbecue for your convenience installed. Be careful when it rains, it tends to get muddy but you can also park on the asphalted road.
