Beautiful campsite a short stroll through woodland to the beach or back along the road via the bird reserve. Spacious plot, plenty of facilities and everything clean and well maintained. Very family friendly. We got the Sea Shuttle from the beach for boat trip and walk in the National Park. Glow-worm walk next door well worth it. Lovely two days!

Very good place to stay if you want to explore the Abel Tasman NP. It was full during our stay but this didn’t bother. 2$ for 3min for hot shower is a minus point. Friendly staff, helps you with advises in any questions. Beautiful mountain bike park in proximity, part of the Great Taste Trail. Have your bikes with you, it is highly recommended.

Reviewed 7 months ago

Bethany Park Holiday Park responds:

Hi Niko, glad you enjoyed your stay, and yes it is great location for exploring the area. Just to remind people, our showers are $.50 cents for three minutes of hot water, not $2.00. Yes indeed, bikes are essential, as we have plenty of places to bike, a great 30 minute bike back into Motueka for coffee or lunch along the Great Taste Trail.

10 minute walk from the beach, spacious kitchen area but kids everywhere, woken up at 7/8am by screaming children wasn’t a highlight of my holiday. You pay for your showers also.

Hi Lauren, yes we are a family camp and there are plenty of children about, sorry they woke you, not sure how to stop that, maybe place non-children families in a quieter spot.

We stayed here and Beach Motor Camp. This site is *much* nicer and 14 dollars less for a powered site. Free BBQ, showers 50c, really nice kitchen facilities with thoughtfully laid out seating area. Nice park for kids too. Probably the cheapest we've paid so far.

Beach Motor was expensive, and everything was still extra (not happy)

This is the best place we stayed having toured all of the South Island for 3 weeks. It’s impeccably clean with great facilities especially the showers and kitchen areas. The pitches are massive and staff can’t be more helpful. It’s a 10 minute walk via a wooded track to the beach, Tasman ferry departure points and other water activities but without all the hustle and bustle. We cannot rate this site highly enough.

Reviewed over 1 year ago

Bethany Park Holiday Park responds:

Thanks very much Mike! That is praise indeed. Our team work really hard to keep Bethany park clean, and although we are not right on the beach, it is a pleasant and easy walk along through the bush by the estuary to the beach and cafes. So glad you enjoyed your stay. Appreciate you taking the time to comment.

We spent 3 wonderful days at this very spacious, quiet, clean and friendly camping. It provides bathing facilities for babies, and cheap laundry facilities. Nice hot showers cost only 50 cents per 3 minutes and a night at a spacious site coated. 40 dollars per night, for an RV, 2 adults, a child and an infant. It is situated onlt one km from Kaiteriteri beach, from which you can access the Abel Tasman NP by boat. We drove by the other campsite, which is located closer to the beach, but the bethany park seems a much nicer option. We loved the shared outdoor kitchen space with bbq facilities and the nice playground.

Bethany Park Holiday Park responds:

Hi Marie,
Thank you very much for commenting, it is always good to hear from families as we are working hard to make it as family friendly as we can. Being back from the beach means it is quieter... good for those wanting a bit more space and don't mind the 15 stroll to beach, store, cafes and the water taxi departures. Thanks again, safe travels.

Sites are definitely larger than the other option in town. Facilities are clean, kitchen nice and spacious, but showers are not included. A bit noisy in peak season but what can you expect. We had a corner lot for a campervan with plenty of room but everyone walked right through the site including right outside our door despite being parked in the middle which was a bit annoying. Overall would still choose this over the other option

Bethany Park Holiday Park responds:

Hi Heather, thank you for commenting... yes busy summers here, with lots of Kiwi families having their Christmas holidays. Sorry about the rudeness of some of our campers, a little respect would be nice indeed. Glad you did enjoy your time in Kaiteriteri.

Very nice and spacious grounds. The facilities are top and super clean. There is a small but apparently fun playground for the kids (4 and 5). The staff is friendly en helpfull. The price is very reasonable. The surroundings are nice and it's a 1.3 km walk to the beach where it's easy to book trips to Abel Tasman NP. We've been places that offered more playground or impressive views but were also much more expensive. So a 10 because of the excellent value for money.

Having read all the reviews we decided to go there as it seemed a wonderful place.

Positives - A huge site, and a decent price.
Good location - Short walk to the beach and easy access to Abel Tasman.
Clean site with water available to top up campervan on most pitches.
Very friendly staff behind counter.
Toilets clean (although the men's did smell at times of urine)

Negatives- paid for Wi-Fi-poor connection and kept dropping out on both Samsung phone and iPhone.
Sadly our awning and pop up air vent on our camper was damaged at a cost of 600 dollars to replace and repair. Spoke to the camp manager who although was very friendly informed us there was nothing he could do and suggested it was the wind (no refund or anything was offered). Spoke to some surrounding pitches to our site and they stated there was no wind, they just heard a bang. It was 26 degrees, zero wind whatsoever and we were under a tree site. We had spent the day walking in Abel Tasman with superb, wind free weather even on the 2 hour boat trip. We found it difficult to believe this was wind damage. Due to these pricey damages we would not stop there again as we expected it would be safe. Very upset and disheartened.

Bethany Park Holiday Park responds:

Hi Theo, thanks for taking the time to write, we note you commented on the Campermate app also, and as we replied there, we are sad to think there could have been vandalism at Bethany, just never happened before, particularly on a very public site throughout the day. Very friendly welcome at the reception when we arrived, beautiful spacious campground with lots of shade in case desired.
Really nice and clean facilities (kitchen/dining area/showers). They even go the extra mile and had turned on the radio in the shower - how awesome is that!
From Bethany Park to Marahau is approximately 20 mins, so it’s a very convenient location for any activity in Abel Tasman (they also gave us some good tips and help!). And Kaiteriteri has a nicer beach to swim etc than Marahau, so by staying here you get the best of both!

Great, peaceful and huge campsite. Really lovely staff attitude. Decent wifi, and good showers; though you do have to pay $4 for 6 minutes. But there are lots of toilets and showers. Short walk to Kaiteriteri beach front, and amazing beer and food in The Beached Whale.

Bethany Park Holiday Park responds:

Hi, thanks so much for your comments, and yes, we think we have a great team here too! Just a note, showers are .50 cents for three minutes, so just $1.00 for six minutes, not $4.00, now THAT would be expensive! We are back from the busyness of the Kaiteriteri beach, and a ten minute walk on the road, or a lovely 15 minute bush walk to the beachfront. Thanks again, appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Wow - this place ticks all the boxes (and then some). Stunning location, exceptional facilities and a welcoming/relaxed atmosphere that's priceless.

The site is stunningly peaceful - tucked away from the main tourist strip and surrounded by the gorgeous Abel Tasman bush. And the facilities are second to none. Clean toilets/showers, great kitchen (plenty of hobs, fridges, microwaves, BBQs, freezers, even an oven!).

The main beach is only a 10-minute walk away through a gorgeous forest trail. And mountain bikers, take your bikes because the Kaiteriteri MTB park is right next to the campsite ('Jaws' and 'Corkscrew' trails are highlights.) There's also loads to do on-site: table tennis, golf, book exchange, watching the Tuis...

The staff are amazing people: genuine, friendly locals that go above and beyond. Oh, and the honey that's on sale in the reception is delicious. Be sure to get some for your toast in the morning and as souvenirs.

Thanks for an amazing holiday Bethany Park. See you next year.

The best place I was acommondated at on our NZ trip. The other place in Kaiteriteri located directly at the waterfront was absolutely overcrowded. At Bethany Park Christian Camp they offered me a beautiful and generous campsite. The staff were lovely and the area is really spacious.
Well, l heard a really little noise from the cafe, but the Bethany Park is so huge that you can ask for a place, which is far enough away from the cafe. I paid $20 for one night, wifi and hot showers included.
Great! I would love to come back.
