Very clean. Great patio area over looking the creek. Good camp kitchen. Toilets were spotless. $44 night for two. Interesting 'glamping' ideas.

One of the cutest places I've stayed during 6 months of travel trough the whole country!
$15 p.p. for a van in mid April, I think it's $20 during summer which would be too much.
Kitchen a little bit old, but provides everything you need, even things like free milk, eggs, oil, jam and so much more.
You must eat in the provided area, in a beautiful tent next to the river.
Showers are hot, bathrooms are cute, providing everything you need (shampoo, lotions etc.).
Only negative aspect is that these facilities were not that clean, the doors are always open, so insects can come in any time.
Staff is a cute couple, very friendly.
This lodge is definitely worth a stay. They even provide little bungalows, villas, caravans and more.
Only 2 minutes to town centre.

Stunning location next to the river but most facilities were fairly outdated especially for the price. Quirky attributes appeared more cheap than funky. Hosts were initially friendly but on two experienced occasions became grouchy with simple inquiries.
We stayed three nights, very quiet and clean. Owners are friendly and helpful. You find all facilities that you need. A wonderful area.
A quiet and non typical place. A little bit expensive for backpackers but good facilities.
The most amazing place we visited during our travels around NZ. My girlfriend and I travelled practically all of NZ over two months, this place just stood out like no other. The staff were so friendly and easy-going which was a good start, then after walking around the grounds we really realized what a gem we'd found. We payed a minimal fee to park up our van. We would've loved to stay in one of the little houses or tents, but we'll definitely be back again for a romantic getaway some time. Great views, free hot showers, right on the water and great walks starting from the grounds. I can only speak in superlatives about this place! Thanks for an unforgettable experience…
We stayed recently for 3 magical nights after having our daughter recommend Pagoda Lodge. We were warmly welcomed & shown to the Luxury Safari tent set on a wooden platform near the river. It was beautiful!! The setting was gorgeous & the the tent was stunning. Beautifully set up & equipped. We also loved the proximity to bush tracks, the historic Pa & the Stone Store & Kemp House as well as the walking tracks into town. we were sad to leave & found our experience here magical.
One star is knocked off only for the loud american girl who spoke loudly & so embaressingly (for her) over quite a few hours till 1am on one of the nights we were there. She was outside our tent nearby. We lay in bed willing her to be quiet. I think she may have been doing some work for Pagoda.
That said we did love our time here and recommend this place for anyone wanting a calm, quiet experience.in an aesthetic setting. Perfect. We will be back.
