The beach was huge and the track very pleasant. Insects very loud! Found a lovely spot on the beach for a picnic and the views of the mountains and sea were really nice. Interesting tree growing out of a rock!

Nice walking track to the beach with trees that enclose the path and I really loved the crickets. The beach was big and we watched the kayaks and boats while seeing the mountains in the background.

I have done the track five years ago as part of a three day track, wanted to show this beautiful area to my husband. Took a watertaxi to Torrent Bay and walked down to Marahau. Not easy while carrying a 20lb baby but SO worth it. Great beaches and awesome views.

We walked from Marahau to the Apple Tree Bay. It was a lovely track with a little bit of a rainforest feeling. It is an easy walk for people with moderate fitness condition. It takes about three hours walk to the Bay and back.

We walked the Abel Tasman for three days and started in Marahau. The walk was not really hard and you got some stunning views of some small beaches and coves. Sadly from time to time, it was really crowded but it was alright.

Beautiful 3-4 days of hiking from gorgeous beach to gorgeous beach. Every pit stop is a little paradise. Stick to the smaller sites - less crowded and more secluded. Recommend a day kayaking to allow visits to smaller islands and see seals.

Path is very well maintained and well signposted. Beautiful views all the way along the path - changes from coastal views to bush views, waterfalls etc. Cleopatras Pool is a must see.

It is a wonderful walk if you appreciate beaches. For me, the walk was no as easy as I heard from other people. Be aware to prepare drinkable water; there is none there; and keep all your rubbish with you = there are no trash bins.

Easily accessible and doable with two small children with the help of widely available water taxis. Bark Bay (walk from Torrent Bay, 6.4km) and the kids can play in the safe Bark Bay lagoon at high tide.

Well kept and well travelled part of the Abel Tasman Coast Track. We walked south to Awaroa and were rewarded with great vistas and a refreshing trip across the estuary (check tide times). We continued out to the lodge for lunch and took the water taxi. A lovely day out.

The trail was beautiful but challenging in parts. Even though we crossed at low tide, we had to wade through a foot of water when crossing the inlet - and was not expecting that. The trail from Awaroa Hut to Lodge was poorly marked and frustrating!

We went with the water taxi to Bark Bay and walked back, just perfect distance (about 20km). It you only have time for one day or do not want to stay in one of the huts in the park. Easy to moderate fitness level is required. Please check the weather in advance. It is not really fun if there is no sun.

Marahau - Apple Tree. Stunning walk through primeval forests and beaches. Easy walk, not much climbing - stop on the way and have a swim - take trunks and towels.

Totaranui - Waiharakekek Bay. Short walk about one hour long climb. We went mid November, weather fantastic - best beach we have been to - isolate. Take swimming gear.

If you like walking and not too exhausting walks, then this is the best hike over four days. You can take the watertaxi from Kaiteriteri and walk back. If you stay in Kaiteriteri book also a shuttle back.

Easy and beautiful walk through the bush to the Bay. Highly populated trail in case you are looking for something more secluded. Check the tide tables!! Wasn't much water in the Bay when we went. Bummer.

Walking the Abel Tasman Coast Track from Torrent Bay to Marahau is a beautiful day hike. On about 20km the track goes along the coast through nice forest. There are plenty of small bays that invite you to go swimming. So, plan at least 6 hours for the hike!

Easy paths to follow. You will not get lost. Big sections are in the shade, in the bush which is great under the crazy sun. Whatever you do, make sure you get to the beach of your choice at low tide. Our favourite beach? Torrent Bay.

Recommended to walk North if you only have a short amount of time. Walked from Totaranui to Anapai Bay then to Mutton Cove. Beautiful rock formations, crystal water and golden sand. Take a short 10 minute walk further around from Anapai Bay and be rewarded with a smaller, quieter beach (walk in total was 3 hours return).

Amazing walk through Abel Tasman National Park. The beaches are great, clean and almost not crowded! The camping places at the park were pretty good too.

Beautiful campsites ( Bark Bay, Anchorage) but in summer very full and we booked before in Picton - not good because we were in stress to come to the special dates and to the special campsite. Not good with heavy bags (very hot in summer), nice beaches to swim and relax, nice flora and fauna but sometimes the same/boring and too much people. Campgrounds are good, best place is @ Anchorage - better than Totaranui.

Totaranui to Wainui. Stunning views and not too strenuous. Left our car at Wainui and paid $12pp to be taken to Totaranui with Golden Bay Coaches (prebook apparently). Informative and narrative driver. Worth the money. Mutton Cove has fresh water to rinse off after swimming!! (We did not know this!!). Don't have to pay the big bucks to do the entire Abel Tasman Track. Park at Wainui and tramp to Mutton Cove (2.5 hours). Stunning beach, shade, camping, a log swing, fresh water, loos and it is FREE! Wish the i-site had told us when we enquired about the walk. Would've swam!

One of the best walks ever, but sometimes overcrowded especially on the Southern Half. Very awesome campsites, good equipped. Track is easy to walk, combine it with a kayak trip! Would be helpful to regulate number of visitors a bit more.

Marahau - Motueka. Very nice walk, I just did one day to walk back again to the car. If you want to sleep inside you have to book a hut in front, nice beaches where you can swim.

Took Sea Shuttle Discoverer Day Tour . Bus to Kaiteriteri, boat to Bark Bay and back from Anchorage Bay. Walked two stages from Bark to Anchorage and whole day was absolutely fabulous. Probably our best walk ever, anywhere in the world. It's paradise!!

Beautiful, terrific views of foliage and a well-maintained track. Never too steep (surprisingly) for too long. Much of the same views (trees, plants, track), but scenic views make it all worthwhile. Just long enough to stretch ones legs and get some exercise after (or before) kayaking. Torrent Bay swimming at end was stellar!

An absolutely exquisite track. Unmissable! Well maintained trek through stunning scapes. opportunities to see wild seals, swimming holes, camping permitted at bays/huts. Picnic tables, water pump every half hour. If you walk back from Marahau, you'll pass two excellent cafes. Great welcome station with toilets and payphone at head end of trail.

Easy 4 hour track, Nice views on all bays but most of time you walk under tree and you only see trees. Cleopatras pool is a nice stop for a bath. High/low tide impact walking time and this should be displayed everywhere and not only at the tidal track part.

Overestimation of time to complete given which was fine - said 2 1/2 hours - took 1 hour carrying 10 month old in backpack, but was tough uphills at times. Lovely lush vegetation and gorgeous golden beach at end but bit long to wait for pick up with baby and no shelter or facilities till back.
