Fantastic views overlooking running creek, flowering fields and snow capped mountains (also ducks)! Clean drop toilet. A few midges after dusk but that's at all the sites to Milford. Reasonably quite at this one compared to others nearby. We had DOC pass so not sure about normal costs.
Small camp set off the road with impressive views of the valley. Two picnic tables and one drop toilet (as with all DOC camps in this area). $13pp.
This campsite should cost 8-10 dollars like others that offer the same service. No running water, the "BBQ" is a very primitive form of something that can be called like that, toilet is ok, the view is nice but it's near the river so be careful of sand flies. Ranking low because overpriced, location is great though, with flowers and snow capped mountains visible even in summer!

Could be a stunning spot but as we went there on a rainy winter day we didn't see much of it. Next to a river (which apparently does NOT flood the campsite even if it rains heavily all night). Basic dump toilets.
Not easy to access but a spot with a fantastic view. $6 per person is good value for the Fjordlands and the great mountain panorama view.
First part between road and river, low traffic after 7pm, flat gravel parking area, great view.
Access savings worth hundreds of $$ on Top Ranked NZ Accommodation and Activities for just $1 per day.
Come early and grab a solitary spot at the rear end. Beautiful. As always in the area, be prepared for sand flies.
Can't get any better than this! Perfect spot next to the river with incredible mountain views. Go!
Nice but warning - sandflies!! DOC - $6 per person with a BBQ.
Campsite number 4 on the Te-Anau-Milford Sound Road, small but utterly impressive, with views of the valley and mountains.
Cheap campsite with a fantastic view. Road noises couldn't be heard.

A LOT of sandflies.
Basic DOC, for basic DOC tariff.
You are allowed to start your own fire, but we didn't stay outside too long due to the sandflies. Beautiful but very close to the road to Milford. If you can't find a spot on this campsite, plenty of others to choose from along the highway.
Great spot to camp if you are into fly fishing. We camped with the river at our back door. There are large trout in the river. Pit toilets are clean and well maintained. Not at all crowded when we were there.
Close to a river, one working toilet.
Basic campsite for campervaning. Fireplace available for wild camping. Basic toilet which amazingly had a queue at times. Funny to see in such a wild spot. Good fishing opportunities very close by if the fish play ball (which they didn't which is why they are so big). Lovely scenery
Very nice situation near a beautiful river and with nice view of the mountains.
Lovely spot at the riverside.
