What a place! Not too far off the main road, down a narrow unsealed section - watch out for sheep. Beautiful beach, vast grassy areas, seals, striking cliffs as well as a good surf beach. The famous Purakaunui Falls are not far away. This camp site is definately well worth the trip.

Great overnight spot! Bit of snow on the road on the way down but it is the middle of winter! Watched the seals come to shore in the evening and back out to sea the next morning. Amazing!

Not many facilities but nice beach and nice view, swimming in the ocean may involve swimming with sea lions.
Impressive surroundings, we appreciated the tap in one of the toilets so you can wash yourself. Very quiet, cause far from the road.
Large campsite with stunning views overlooking a beach and cliffs in the distance. Long drop toilet and no camp shower or free wifi as the description suggests.
We love to meet travellers on the road and share in some of the freedom. That's why we invite you to come and stay for free at our chill riverside overnight parking area in the Motueka Valley at the top of the South Island.
Basic DOC site. Isolated, fantastic views of cliffs, beach with the added bonus of sea lions on the beach. Super stop for self contained vehicles.
It's a long dirt road, and you might have to wait for the farmer to move his cattle, but it's worth the drive. There is a stunning bay with seals on it. Unfortunately there was no shelter to cook under, which is a bit tricky in the rain.
