Two water points, one guy with some facilities and the other and old barn it seems. Also has a well maintained drop down toilet!
Got over the ford with a 1998 Mitsubishi Libero, fully packed with stuff on the roof as well. 4w definitely needed for the winter.
An excellent spot outside the beaten path, peace and quiet. Well, except the beautiful sounds of different birds and the nearby creek.
Way off the beaten track, very long trek down gravel road but the end result was worth it, amazing and not a soul around. Not the best terrain for a camper van although we did make it!
Lots of sand flys and no cellphone coverage.... But the views made up for it!
Called in at this camping site on the way through the Omarama Saddle 4WD track, would be a great site to use as a base while exploring the many tracks in the area.

Stayed one night in May with our campervan. Awesome place, stunning view in the morning, and snow everywhere! Firewood was already cut and dry for the fireplace, was very good to keep warm in the evening. Very quiet. Perfect place to spend a night, exactly what I expected in New Zealand! Thanks DOC
Awesome place. We stayed there one night with our car. Take the road from St. Bathans, it takes quite a while because of the gravel, but it is worth it! There is a little hut which is used as a shelter, with an oven, water which you can drink and a longdrop toilet. This is the best DOC campground we have been on and it is for free! You can do nice walks there too. The landscape is just amazing!
