Our first camp out of Christchurch. Lots of room to camp with clean, flushing toilets. We had a great time exploring the river and the drive in, though a little long, was through beautiful countryside,so worth it. Definitely recommend.
This was a beautiful campground, it was a bit of a drive out of town but worth it. Huge camping area, we were the only ones there when we stayed. Beautiful stream that you can camp near. Clean, flushing toilets on each end of the campsite. We would definitely visit again.
Really nice doc site. Freindly manager. Clean toilets. Beautiful surroundings!
Very helpful, chatty lady host. Chose a nice spot for us with a view. Proper flush toilet was clean. Grassy areas and some have space for camp fire.

Yey! Finally a campsite which offers fire making options! We were so happy! Untill the rain began to fall... Nevertheless the campsite is well taken care of and has an fine toilet site. Good place to stay overnight.
Beautiful views, we especially loved how peaceful it was, I think there was only one other camper on the entire site! Easy self registration $8per person. Cool that there are fire pits which help to keep the sandflies away!
Beautiful spot by the river. Very friendly caretaker. Toilets flush and clean. Great spot for a night or two and close to town.
We paid $16 for two people in an unpowered campervan site.
This is a big grassy area with nice views and very basic facilities, though the toilets do flush. Sand flies were present and annoying here. The spot seems to be in the middle of nowhere, so I wouldn't recommend driving far out of your way for it, but if you're in the area this a fine spot to spend the night! Good value overall.

The best camping site we have experienced throughout our two week holiday. Amazing scenery!
Fantastic spot, beautiful river, great space, nice toilets.
Beautiful campsite with the river beside it! No facilities though there were some toilets, but they didn't work. Only water that you have to boil before drinking. So if you don't need all that, the site is amazing!
Lots of sandflies, facilities were okay but not very clean. It's cheap, so that was good, but very basic campsite.
Just as described, peaceful countryside with sheep and stream. Loos clean. Exactly what we needed and much nicer than being in Geraldine itself.
Good site, beautiful location, no faults and would use again.
Such a beautiful spot for a night. Spacious, cheap ($6) and scenic. Not too far off the main rd and well worth it for a quiet night by the river
Really great (and cheap) DoC campsite in utterly stunning scenery - mountains, forest, river, you've got it all. Plenty of room too, and a few decent toilets too. No sandflies either - yay!
Waking up with sheep. Very scenic. A little bit off the main road.
A long way from any other city, a peaceful place with a beautiful forest in the background and a nice stream. Not so many sandflies either. Fee $6.
sites = 50, fee = $6.
Wonderful DOC campsite, lot of space, nice cooling down (small) river. Great views! And only $6/person.
A beautiful setting, alongside a manuka and rata bush on one side and farm land with cows and sheep on the other side. plenty of grass for kids to run around and play on.
stayed with kids in a motorhome/bus and tent jan 2011.
beautiful river, small swimming holes for a safe dip in the refreshing water. kids enjoyed making dams and catching cockabillies.
nice doc camping ground with small fee. clean toilets and water that needs boiling.
