We visited off season so it was quiet and the showers were free although normally $1. $69 for 2 adults 2 kids is the most we’ve paid on our trip, can imagine if it was busy you would be very crammed in on the sites. Facilities are clean, tidy and standard. Beautiful view.
Loved this campsite!! What beautiful scenery to wake up to!!
Nice clean kitchen, warm bathroom facility, first campground that offered us a key for the family bathroom, made it so much easier!!!!
Walking distance to town, we had dinner at the fork and tap (delicious). Beautiful town with lots of little walkways/alleys!
Sites are pretty close together but it didn’t bother us and Park seems to be shared with the local domain/rugby club which didn’t bother the little dude at all, his main concern was lack of a slide.
FYI - showers did not cost, that seems to be a bit of a thread in other reviews...
Small sites, have to pay for showers. Pretty disappointing experience, but the campsite is tidy
Arrowtown Holiday Park responds:
Thank you for your review. Sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience at the Holiday Park.
Paying for the showers, reason being the showers are on a timer so everyone gets to have showers and they are not
held you by just a few.
Stayed here 2 nights on our way out of NZ. Beautiful picturesque spot surrounded by mountains and walking distance to shops. Facilities are A1 , great clean free hot water showers and you get small amount of wifi free plus option to purchase at reasonable price. Nice and quiet. Lovely last 2 days here. Would recommend. Preferred this to busyness of Queenstown.
Arrowtown Holiday Park responds:
Thankyou, great to here you enjoyed your experience in the Holiday Park and your last 2 days in NZ.
Your comments are much appreciated.
Rankers realy works. They have free showers now!
Not tried the cooker but the kitchen was clean and lots of hot water.
The pitch is small but acceptable. Paid $49 for 2 people on a powered site and staff are friendly. Left before 10am!
A 10 mins walk into towm is a must and the Chinese village is amazing.
Great little basic holiday park.
WATCH OUT THEY RIPP YOU OFF WHEN YOU LEAVE AFTER 10 O’CLOCK!!! YOU WILL PAY 20 DOLLAR FINE!
We stayed last night at Arrowtown Holiday Park for 1 night. We left this morning just before 11 o’clock.
We wanted to leave earlier but there was a long line with campers and vans waiting to go out. ( it was 10.06 at that moment ) Probably a lot of more tourists and kiwi’s were ripped off! ( just as us )
So we took our time because of the line with campers.
When we tried the code at the gate we couldn’t leave because our code didn’t work??
I went inside and a young lady told me that I was too late and if I want to have another code I must pay 20 nz dollar. I think its ridiculous THEY DID NOT WARN US by our check in.
We were unaware from the fine. It would be FAIR/NORMAL if they told us immediately by check in, they only told us check out time is 10 o’clock.
I was so angry and wanted to call the police because this isn’t honest!! But I kept my mouth shot.
We are traveling in NZ since 8th of December and often we left our camping an half hour or an hour later. It’s a rip off, a shame that they are such greedy camping owners. This camping place isn’t cheap, also we paid for the showers.
Not as nice as the Top 10 Holiday Campings we normally stay!
DON’T STAY HERE!
wi fi expensive and you have to pay to have a timed shower. not recommended
Expensive for what you get. We paid 45 dollar for 2 persons and a tent. Showers are 1 dollar. Cold washingmachine 30 minute program is 4 dollar! No free Wifi. Even the BBQ needs a 2 dollar coin
Overpriced Four Square supermarket in walking distance .
Facilities are clean.
Francois & Caroline
We arrived late and information were left on the door to know which spaces were available, quite convenient. Facilities were clean.
But the overall feeling is that spaces are too small and its overcrowded (in relation to the price as well).
Too many people. Seemed to us they were trying to cram as many people as they could onto the site making the whole experience not very pleasant. Facilities couldn't cope - there was a queue of people waiting to use the washing machines/dryers. Kitchen was also too small for the numbers and not well equipped. Only camp site we stayed at on our road trip where we had to pay for a shower. Male owner/manager walked into womens showers un-announced whist wife and daughter were in there and didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with that.
Town was 10-15 min walk away which was ok and a bus stop right outside the camp serviced Queenstown very well and only cost $2 each way. I personally wouldnt recommend it and wont be staying there again
The staff is very friendly but can't compensate the site's shortcomings.
About half the heating spaces in the kitchen area were not working which lead to longer waiting time.
The dryer did less than half of its job so better get two of the tokens. Had to improvise as the office was closed and the clothes were wet.
Also shower experience was suboptimal. Machine was blocked by a coin so I couldn't get hot water.
I think it's better in off season, though.
Access savings worth hundreds of $$ on Top Ranked NZ Accommodation and Activities for just $1 per day.
Clean, quiet and a pleasant short stroll to town. Paid Wi-Fi only. The facilities were always clean and warm which is a plus
Very pretty place, walking distance to town and friendly staff. Showers were $1 for 6 minutes however it was freezing cold for the first few minutes which really limits the shower. We had snow when we were there and unfortunately to get to the showers we had to go down a grassy hill that was extremely slippery and it was a huge walk to go around.
Yar Ni Ng
$45 for a powered site (2 persons). Basic holiday park. No free wifi. No time limit for hot shower due to off-peak season.
Great place to stay, very warm reception, we were a little early but allowed to site the motor home early. Excellent facilities great location
Perfectly situated for walking into old town. Lots of long term caravanners on site. Have to pay for showers and Wi-fi. Free Wi-fi in town and New Orleans bar. Barbecue was broken. Didn’t use small kitchen. Not our favourite site but ok for 1 eve spent in old town.
Clean facilities, camp site was not close to anything else in the town to walk to. Lots of people it seemed the night we were there so it was somewhat crowded in the kitchen. Pay showers
The camp grounds facilities are basically okay, although not for a price of $40 for two persons on an unpowered camp site. WiFi costs extra, hot showers cost extra. The kitchen doesn't offer much more than what you really need and you cannot use it after 10pm anyway.
All this would still be okay if at least the staff would be friendly. While we sorted our equipment in (we had to bring all our dishes, cutlery, etc. from our car since nothing was provided - also our camp site was a few hundred metres away from the kitchen), a staff member asked us to leave immediately or we would have to pay for another night. He didn't listen, when we told him that we were just packing up and would leave in 5 minutes anyway.
In conclusion this is the worst camp ground in value and at the same time the most expensive one we have been on so far.
The location is nice - Arrowton. However, it is far overpriced for the offered facilities, and charges are not justified. Hot water is available abundantly in the toilets, but the shower charges $1 for hot water - just add 1 to the price, this is not based on energy savings...
Kitchen area closes at 10pm - forces people to wash dishes in the toilet and make noise at there sites after 10pm, instead of using the kitchen. Overall - it could be a good camping, but the policies are beyond any reason.

Paid $40 for 2 pax for a powered site and $5 for 1GB wifi. It is not crowded during our travel in August. If it is, it would be quite a cramped site area. Decent kitchen and amazing toilet facilities. Unlimited hot showers and there is a hair dryer. Very modern toilet block. Pleased with stay.
Very clean, tidy and pleasant receptionist.
Great place to stay. The amenities were fantastic , showers $1 for 8 minutes but good showers. Well set up and kept camp. Stunning autumn colours on show :)
Overpriced, have to pay $40 just to pitch a tent and then have to pay for showers. Kitchen was overcrowded. Ground was very hard. Definitely not worth the money!
Arrowtown Holiday Park is open for business… Visit Website …now's your chance to take a closer look.
Nice holiday park, good location, nice toilets. Charged $1 for 8 minutes shower. The laundry dryer is a rip off :$4 and the laundry was still wet.
Amenities great and very clean. 10-15 minute walk into town. Able to purchase wifi. Must pay for showers but they are excellent showers, great water pressure.
Well kept site, would imagine it is beautiful in Autumn. Paid around $42 for 2 people in a powered site.
Didn't need to book in advance but on weekends or school holidays it would be advisable to do so.
Camp ground quiet and staff friendly.
Recommend hiring bikes in town and there are many wonderful cycling tracks leaving from Arrowtown.
Clean and tidy. Close to downtown Arrowtown and local supermarkets. Paid $40 a night for wife and me in a motorhome.
Joost de Hond
Very unfriendly staff. Paid $40.00 for an unpowered site for two people. Excessively high price for a small site with no privacy. Furthermore it was 400 meter walk to the new but basic facilities. No complemintary wifi, or showers ($1 for 4 minutes). Not worth the money.
Drive on! Wouldn't recommend. Drive to Queenstown, Cromwell, or Wanaka where you'll get more value for your money!!
Campsites are small/cramped, quite some semi/permanent campers (more than tourists, no idea why? Looking for luck/gold?). Gave a gypsy place impression.
Every single thing to be paid for.., showers look good, but 1NZD for 6 minutes duration or so. Fine. But then turned bad for this campsite: 1. Undressed, and then coin got stuck...no water. To the reception and new dollar coin was given. My girlfriend came out of the shower at that point, complaining about only cold water. Then I showered, indeed, only cold water after the first minute of warm water. All handwash taps also only provided cold water for us. Without reliable running hot water, a heavy charged campsite is degraded in my book to unstayable, if that comfort can't be guaranteed there is no reason for me to stay at any campsite and I'd much rather stay at a DOC.
One of my favourite campsites during our 2 week stay. Great facilities, great views of mountains, paid $59 for 2 adults and 2 children on powered site, we stopped here from Lake Tekapo and heading towards Queenstown as we were doing the Jet Shotover boat the following day, so from this location it was only 15 minutes. Friendly staff and clean. $1 showers
My least favourite holiday park of a 4 week campervan holiday. Sure, the bathrooms and kitchen are clean and modern. But each facility has a set of aggressive sounding rules posted up inside, which work on the assumption that park visitors are unable to be trusted. The site map comes with an additional 20 or so rules on the back, adding to the officious and unwelcoming tone. Management reserves the right to take a $50/$100 'behaviour bond' from you. It's unclear how they decide on who to extract this from, but there's probably a six page policy about it. Campervan sites were very close together. The overall feel was military compound vs somewhere to relax and enjoy yourself. Could do with some competition, as Arrowtown is a lovely spot.
We stayed 2 nights over Easter and it was packed to the rafters. Great toilet and shower facilities and extra $1 for a shower. Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. Nice sites with power and (shock!!) water at each site, not a usual NZ custom but normal overseas. Town has turned super hippy type and EXPENSIVE since we visited 20 years ago!! Same as Queenstown so do all your shopping before you arrive in these towns. We would stay here again as facilities were very good.
What a great location with beautiful surrounds and modern and clean facilities. BUT we were not impressed with the manner in which they pack the sites so close together, literally cheek by jowl. It would be uncomfortable in peak times.
Our second night in New Zealand, really quite cold so this was a great place to power up our van. 1km walk to town, very pretty walk. Great amenities! Heaters in the bathrooms, big new showers & toilets. Showers are $1 = 6 minutes.... my advice, just put $1 in at a time, you won't be in there as long as you think. Hard water pressure and nice and hot. Laundry and dryer require tokens from reception. Not much view, just the mountains towering over but a really nice clean and new place that wasn't too expensive. $53 for a powered site for 3 adults.
Camping très propre. Sanitaire et cuisines nickel.
Camping difficile à trouver (manque d'indication).
Sites appear quite clinical, but clean facilities and short walk to Arrowtown (which is such a cute little town; a must-see, if you're visiting this area).
Nice holiday park with good facilities - lots of showers and toilets and a big kitchen. There was no lounge and the immediate view wasn't great (just rows of campervans) but if you looked up you could see beautiful mountains. The best bit about this site for me was the location, it was a short walk to the sights of Arrowtown so very handy and nice to be able to pop to the pub for a drink without one of us having to drink a soft drink so they could drive :)
Very relaxing park. Pleasant walk in to town. Very nice facilities and modern kitchen to use.
Great place to relax. Beautiful walk into town. Clean, great showers kitchen, just a great set-up.
Stayed 1 night powered site in camper. Beautiful place to stay, look forward to staying there again. Wonderful clean facilities. Yah hair drier!!! Music playing in the showers makes for a brighter day! Kids play ground awesome, short walk to town. Can't fault this place. Take your sandfly protection :)
Arrived here late, called ahead and arranged with owners to stay the night and pay in the morning. Facilities were new and tidy, lots of sites to choose from: gravel as well as grass. Lovely staff and quiet park near town.
One of the cleanest, tidy and freshest facilities we have ever encountered in New Zealand. The bathroom floor was even heated! How good is that?! About 10 mins walk from main centre. Friendly staff. Showers included in overnight price, token operated laundry (wash & dry), tip: remember to get your tokens before Reception closes :) Visited in shoulder season, so fairly quiet.
Great Park in a beautiful town. Staff very friendly. Modern facilities. Free Showers. Only negative we had, is there is no place for kids to hang out in rainy weather. No lounge area etc. Would still highly recommend as a base to all activities in Queenstown area.
Great location, really clean and up to date facilities, nice walk around the town centre and not too far from Queenstown.
Very clean and new facilities.
Set on quiet grounds, only a short walk into town.
This site is perfectly clean, with modern facilities, laundry, kitchen and shower block.
I found the price more than fair for the facilities provided, and the showers were free despite other reviews saying different (maybe this is a peak season fee/charge).
With no complaints to give, this site is a must visit, even for visitors wanting to see Queenstown which is only a 15 min drive away.
Nyla and Alan Ramsay
Very nice camp away from the hustle of Queenstown but close enough to get to the attractions of the area. Modern clean facilities. Walk to Arrowtown shops.
Excellent campsite within 10 minutes walk into Arrowtown, which is a fascinating historic mining town. All facilities good and wished we could have stayed longer.
We stayed 3 nights on a motorhome site.
- outstanding staff
- clean toilets and showers.
- all facilities in a very good shape
-Wi-Fi too complicated (2 open networks with the same name, only one worked fine, tricky to find out!)
- pricy, and 2$ for a 6-minute shower on top...quite a lot.
- not enough toilets and showers for the peak season, queuing is obligatory.
But concerning all facts still to recommend
Sound full utility park. Setting is in the middle of town so your nature comes from the views. Great place to launder, recharge all systems and tour Arrowtown (great mainstreet and Chinese mining huts to tour as well as key LoTR sites.
Brand new toilets and showers very nice. Great location to walk into Arrowtown - we got a take away pizza and just walked back to the campsite to eat it but there are lots of nice restaurants there too.
$18 per person. Very good toilets and shower, new and clean.
Way too cramped (we went in summer), clean facilities though by extra charge.
Decent size hard standing pitches, lovely staff and super modern facilities. If only all holiday parks could be like this! Only a 5 minute walk into the village too. Showers are $1 for a good 8 minutes. My one wish is that they could have turned the heating on in the bathrooms. It was pretty cold when I was there!
Crowded, expensive shower. Would not go back.

Wonderful camping ground, big sites and lovely grounds. Spotless facilities. Easy walk to town, which is quaint and beautiful. Visit in the autumn when the autumn colour is out and its simply stunning.
lovely facilities and as cost is a function of quality, it probably is value for money. Just.
Good facilities and a nice town.
Beautiful camp with clean, modern facilities. Only complaints, gate locked at 10pm. had to have a number to get in at other times.the guy in the office seemed a bit grumpy...not good for a camp.Gorgeous town.
stayed again in May 2014. Awesome staff this time. Facilities really great.
Excellent site. Close to town for shops and restaurants. Lovely new faciltiies, kept spotlessly clean, good size pitches, with plenty of open space. Very helpful staff.
Facilities in top surroundings, very cosy, a walk down to Arrowtown - absolutely recommendable. Very cute town.
Clean, tidy, secure and affordable.
Arrowtown Holiday Park is open for business… Visit Website …now's your chance to take a closer look.
As some other reviewers have pointed out..this holiday park lacks atmosphere. This review pertains to "Arrowtown born of gold holiday park".
We camped here on a powered site and paid NZD 18.5 per head (as we had kiwi holiday park card). There is a NZD 10 refundable security deposit for the security access card. It was bit ridiculous as we didn't see such measure in other holiday parks that we camped.
The person at the reception wasn't really friendly when asked about suggestions in the surrounding areas. I recommend others to try holiday parks from the holiday parks NZ brochure before just blindly resorting to kiwi holiday parks.
Kitchen facilities were clean and they didn't provide any utensils and a security camera was in place. If people that run holiday parks are so scared about protecting their business then I think you can't expect much hospitality from such folks. Period.
Didn't really enjoy staying here, not sure why. The staff weren't exactly friendly and there was an extra charge for showers. The kitchen facilities were pretty cramped but it was clean enough. Probably wouldn't go back. Lacked atmosphere.
We loved it here.
A bit expensive but superb modern facilites and a short walk away from a beautiful town with excellent restaurants.
Kitchen was a bit small for such a large site.
I could live here (the town, not the camp-site!).
Only campground in town. Very expensive and you still had to pay to use all the facilities. Even for some of the kitchen gear! Nice and clean, but we didn't feel welcome at all, $20 per person.
Really nice grounds and modern facilities but very overpriced. $20PP for unpowered tent sites + $1 for showers is absolutely ridiculous.
Very spacious, very clean, close to beautiful town.
A lovely clean campground with excellent facilities. An easy walk into town too. Clean showers, even if you had to pay $1 for a shower (still cheaper than Queenstown). Spacious concrete sites and perfect scenery to wake up to. Quiet and off the main road which is excellent for kids. We stayed in the off season and there were only 6 vans there. Consider staying there instead of Queenstown. We would stay again.

Recently completed new facilities.
Very clean, modern feel about site lovely location. Not too pricey.
Worth the money, very new and clean facilites
Excellent, spacious, the best of amenities so far.
Immaculate facilities - spouses loved toilet and shower combined. Open site.
